Captain Simmons graduated from the Geosciences Department at Mississippi State University and subsequently worked for two years as an AMS-certified meteorologist at WCBI-TV in Columbus, MS. After earning his pilot wings in the US Air Force, Captain Simmons began flying for the Hurricane Hunters out of Keesler Air Force Base in 2015.
