#120 Back to school vibes: my experience with distance learning
09/09/2021 Duración: 27minHey everyone, I'm so happy it's September. I kind of can't believe it's going to be 2022 in less than fourth month, but I am grateful autumn is coming. I'm excited to get cozy with books, light candles and sleep more. Deep fucking breath! In this episode I am talking about my experience as a distance learner. Ten years ago I got my first degree from the Open University, the world's largest distance university, which was an amazing experience that I never regretted. I returned in October 2020 to study philosophy and really loved diving into a new subject this past school year. Distance learning isn't for everyone, but for me it's been a chance to learn in my own way (at home where I am cozy and so much less overwhelmed!), to avoid debt and to explore subjects I am genuinely curious about. Through the pandemic it has also built my confidence and helped me feel connected to something beyond my four walls. I wanted to share my experiences and thoughts in case you're interested in distance learning too and becaus

#119 Making space for summer time sadness & grief
29/08/2021 Duración: 17minHey everyone, mmmhhhh. Today is one of those spacious Sunday that allows for rambly solo episodes recorded in bed with tea & biscuits. I know many of us have been holding out for summer for a long time and now that it's coming to an end the pressure to have fun and be out there can be tangible. And then there is the world with its news, the uncertainty of winter and the need to process at least a bit of what we have experienced this past year and a half. This episode is a permission slip to be where you're at and to remember that being sad is okay. You can be sad and still have nice experiences! You can also make time for grief and still feel joy! Maybe this time is an invitation for us to expand our capacity to be with multiple, complicated and beautifully human feelings at once. #117 Sitting at the feet of plants
09/08/2021 Duración: 29minHey dreamers, ahhh. What a time to be alive. I've been having a lot of feelings this new moon and I got my second vaccine on Friday. This led me to think about the vaccine/no vaccine "debates" that are circulating our collective consciousness and it frankly made me feel heartbroken to say the least. Then the IPCC report on climate change came out today and I wanted to speak to that too... honestly, this episode is a stream of consciousness because that's all I got for you today. I wish for us to become more intimate with grief and anger, with healthy conflict & with each other

#114 Living without social media or a smartphone
20/07/2021 Duración: 34minHey friends, I've been living without social media and a smartphone for a while now and it's something that does seem to raise questions for people. Recently I dug my old iPhone back out because I wanted to share pictures of my garden and my cast post-surgery and it made me pause to see how it felt and if I had missed it. This episode isn't trying to convince anyone to ditch their phones or apps or whatever it is that makes them happy, especially right now. I just wanted to check in with myself, gather some reflections and then share them with you in case you're looking for that kind of food for thought right now. Enjoy!
