Sometimes it is easy to forget that the people God chose as Jesus’ parents were young and, in many ways, unprepared. The Bible tells us “faith without good deeds is useless” (James 2:20). We should not only be talk but action when it comes to our faith, and guest speaker Pastor Jonathan Laurie’s reminding us of that in this Sunday episode. Notes James is stating that merely saying you have faith does not mean you have it. The sin of commission is knowing what is wrong and doing it anyway. The sin of omission is knowing what is right and not doing it. 1. Dead Faith. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” —John 3:16 We are saved by grace through faith, not works. But saving faith will have works. 2. Demonic Faith.
