I’m upset right now. I’m upset by callousness, by selfishness, and the expression of various -isms (racism, classism, antisemitism, etc.). It hurts my heart. I have so much grief that people can be this mean. The other day I watched a facebook video from evolutionary astrologer David Yarrow Wood. He spoke about the current transit we’re all experiencing – Saturn conjunct Pluto. He said Pluto brings up fears so we can see through them, so we can no longer be motivated by them. Oh boy. This process of learning a new way of being started for me before the pandemic, but COVID-19 is upping the ante. I am learning to no longer be motivated by my fears. You know the expression “the world is your oyster”? If you think about it, the phrase doesn’t really match the connotation we have with it. We say “the world is your oyster” when we want to indicate the world is wide open, that you have numerous opportunities available to you, that sort of thing. But have you seen an oyster? There are certain things that are meant for us in this lifetime. We can't run away from them as much as we try. It's why the healthiest person you know gets cancer. Or your friend can't find a job despite applying all over creation. It would be easy to sink into defeatism here. To say, “Oh well. That's my fate. When you ask someone, “Who are you?” They'll likely state their name and then other labels like gender, age, ethnicity, etc. If you ask them to go a little deeper, they might start talking about their family or nationality. Maybe they'll mention their political affiliation. All of that is fine – I'm not saying there's anything wrong with identifying in that way, but can identity go further than that?
