The law was designed by God to crush us, and that is exactly what it does. It crushes to the point of crying out to God, "I can't do this on my own, please send help!" Enter Jesus into the picture. Jesus perfectly completed, accomplished, and nailed the law to the cross forever ending the burden for mankind to live by it. So why have our churches put in place rules and contingencies on God's free grace? Why, when we realize those rules are wrong, do we continue to try and live by them, or worse, hold others to them?
