Jonathan Leeman is the editorial director at 9Marks, a ministry that helps church leaders build healthy churches. He teaches theology at several seminaries and has written a number of books on the church. He is also a research fellow with the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. He has degrees in political science and English, a master of science in political theory, a master of divinity, and a doctorate in political theology. With Netflix releasing the documentary Flint Town, we thought it would the perfect time to re-release our interview with Ernesto and Tony who grew up in Flint, left Flint, and have since returned to Flint. THE END IS NEAR! At least here is what happens when you mix modern day conspiracies with the biblical evangelical eschatology… Once Johnny B Good-christian reaches that last remote people group with the gospel, the Christian population is going to slip into an alternate dimension with Jesus. Meanwhile, chaos will erupt on earth, earthquakes are going to shake apart the neglected and tortured floating ball. As people are trying to cope with the dramatic climate change, a secret post-Nazi government with a human/robot hybrid army will come on the clouds and cease the remaining population and take them by storm. The whole world will succumb to a single seemingly nice dude who provides goods and services for his followers so long as they identify with him by taking his number. As he’s sitting upon his giant commerce empire the inhabitants of earth will be forced into the labor of cleaning up the disaster of all that left behind laundry and rebuilding a mock temple so he can have one final throwdown with God.
