Join Women's Support Services Annual Community Vigil October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Women's Support Services (WSS) will hold its Annual Community Vigil on Thursday, October 6th at 6:30 pm. Each year, we commemorate residents of Connecticut who have lost their lives to domestic violence / intimate partner violence. This year we will meet at Community Park (10 Sharon Road) at the corner of Rts. 41 & 44 in Lakeville for a welcome at 6.30 pm. We will then walk to our new offices at 13a Porter Street, where we will hold the remainder of the program and reception. Late one night in 2009 Nikolaj Busk pushed open the door of a bar in Copenhagen and chanced upon fiddle player Rune Tonsgaard Sørensen and cittern player, Ale Carr, playing some traditional Nordic tunes. Spotting a piano in the corner of the room Nikolaj joined the pair. Within minutes it became clear that there was an instant musical chemistry happening. Since that first meeting Dreamers’ Circus has toured widely, performing not just in our native Scandinavia but also throughout Europe and in Japan, Australia and North America.  More than ten years later the journey goes on for us all. While we all have various musical backgrounds what unites us is an interest in, and love for, folk and traditional music.
