Has Independence Day Become Irrelevant? New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve Day. These holidays are all known by their names not their dates but yet Independence Day is 99% of the time referred to as 4th of July. Why? Is it because we have forgotten the sacrifices, hardships and personal consequences our founding fathers faced? Many of them were wanted in England for treason. Many of these people actually fought in the Revolutionary War. 59 men put their lives in severe jeopardy by signing the Declaration of Independence. They believed in this document, they believed and relied on their countrymen and women. Colonists that believed in the freedom from England were tortured, murdered, kidnapped. Satan is a mighty prince with hosts of demons at his command, and he has set up his kingdom on Earth. His power and position are revealed in the Holy Scriptures. Confusion about the personality of the devil has resulted in large measure from the caricatures of him that became popular during the Middle Ages. To allay their fear of the devil, people tried to laugh at him and pictured him as a foolish, grotesque creature with horns and a long tail. They put a pitchfork in his hand and a feeble-minded leer on his face, and then proclaimed: “Who’s afraid of a ridiculous figure like this?” “Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set upon your anger, 27and do not give the devil a foothold. 28He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing good with his own hands, that he may have something to share with the one in need.…

Bill Glass, former all Pro football player for the Cleveland Browns and founder and Director of Bill Glass Prison ministries underlines and emphasizes the importance of Father’s pronouncing blessings upon their children ALL THROUGH THEIR LIVES. Bill states, “children need a father who speaks the words of love, hope and belonging in their lives.” He continues, “the future of your children and your children’s children and even their children depends upon it.” One my men in our congregation would phone his children EVERY DAY even though they were grown and say, I LOVE YOU. I THINK YOUR TERRIFIC and I’M GLAD YOUR ARE A PART OF OUR FAMILY! The man is down in heaven but his daughter told me, “oh, how I would love to hear my Dad say those things again. They encouraged and blessed me so much. I felt SO SPECIAL!”

A lady once came to Billy Sunday and tried to rationalize her angry outbursts. “There’s nothing wrong with losing my temper,” she said. “I blow up, and then it’s all over.” “So does a shotgun,” Sunday replied, “and look at the damage it leaves behind!” Getting angry can sometimes be like leaping into a wonderfully responsive sports car, gunning the motor, taking off at high speed and then discovering the brakes are out of order. That’s how the scribes must have felt after Jesus had finished telling the parable of the vinedressers and the vineyard. They were so angry they couldn’t listen to the truth of his words.

A man named Jack was walking along a steep cliff one day, when he accidentally got too close to the edge and fell. On the way down he grabbed a branch, which temporarily stopped his fall. He looked down and to his horror saw that the canyon fell straight down for more than a thousand feet. He couldn’t hang onto the branch forever, and there was no way for him to climb up the steep wall of the cliff. So Jack began yelling for help, hoping that someone passing by would hear him and lower a rope or something. HELP! HELP! Is anyone up there? “HELP!” He yelled for a long time, but no one heard him. Pentecost Sunday is this coming weekend, and marks the celebration of the Holy Spirit’s coming with power, signs, and wonders fifty days after the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Jesus had told His disciples that He would send Another Advocate, Intercessor, Consoler, Comforter, Helper – One who would be with them forever – and when He came, EVERYONE knew it! He came BOLDLY, with a GREAT COMMOTION, and EVIDENCES that no one could deny! The same Spirit and the same power that had raised Christ Jesus from the dead, now came to LIVE in them! When the Holy Spirit moved in, their lives changed immediately – and supernaturally. As we reflect on Pentecost this weekend, let’s reflect on this truth from Romans 8:11, as it applies to us, “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.” … think about that!  The same Holy Spirit that came in BOLDLY like a MIGHTY, ROARING WIND at that first Pentecost, now LIVES IN US! The details now are sketchy, but how I loved to hear how things were when you grew up and hardships you endured. Mama, I remember, you made your own lye soap. When life was cruel, you kept your cool, and kept us fed and clothed. “It stays outside,” was what you said, when a stray dog we brought home. Let us conclude our series of messages on Spiritual warfare: We to stand against Satan (Eph. 6:11, 13, 14), but standing is not simply waiting and deflecting the arrows of the enemy. Even Paul, who called the Ephesians to stand, sought their prayer so he would keep proclaiming the gospel boldly even when he was imprisoned (Eph. 6:18–20). His own “standing” meant that he would faithfully evangelize even if the war cost him his life. We put on the full armor of God not so we can defend ourselves, but so we can march into the enemy’s kingdom to do the work of the Great Commission. I also recommend to read the book by John Bevere "The Bait of Satan" I read it several years ago and it set my on fire to evangelize! To be a better Ambassador for my LORD! PTL! Amen! I pray this series has helped you! I pray that you will evangelize and carry out The Great Commission and shine your light to one person at a time for JESUS! My Dear friend Jan Wassenaar passed into the arms of Jesus this past Thursday. Jan was prepared for heaven. I was so very blessed to know this man of God. I had the blessing to meet Jan a couple of times when I would return to Windom, Minnesota to do Revival services. One time Jan invited me to his apartment and I heard his life story! (Picture above of Jan speaking to me and Shari Johnson of West Virginia who took part in the Revival Services) So fascinating! What a wonderful family based on the Word of God. I was friends with Jan’s son Rudy and daughter Rita in high school. Rudy passed away at a young age in a farm accident. Rita wrote this to me after Jan passed away, “In cleaning out his clothes, he had a Gideon Bible and a track in each pocket.” What do you carry in your pockets? What do you share with the world? Do you share JESUS with everyone? Jan carried out THE GREAT COMMISSION until the day the LORD called him home. I am sure those that cared for dear Jan at the end of his life surely have heard a

Happy Resurrection Sunday to you and yours! It's about Jesus! Our risen Savior! Easter is about a Passionate King! and the Promise He Kept! For the Christian, the more appropriate name for Easter is Resurrection Sunday! In our culture, it's considered a holiday....but God intended it for a day of personal reflection and for a day of life evaluation. Jesus did not raise to life so we could have another party! A Harvard College professor once said that young people want to feel that they “belong” more than anything else. The fact is most people, if not all, want to feel acceptance — particularly by those in their circle. The 21st century phenomenon of Facebook — conceived and given birth at Harvard — tapped into the deepest of human needs — to belong. This social media outlet has become something like a personal billboard, where the most intimate thoughts are posted on a wall in cyberspace. One woman posted that she longed to belong. When she realized that the only life she belonged in was her own, she set about creating her own world. People of all ages want to belong to something, even if just belonging to their own way. This is why so many seek to join the clubs, gangs, or even churches. Yet society reflects the craving for a designer world, one that suits every whim. Like soldiers going into battle, we need to be prepared for grief but the culture of today does not prepare us for it. What we need more than anything else during times of grief is a friend who stands with us; someone who will not leave us. Jesus is that friend. The Lord prepares us to weather life’s storms. He gives us the power of faith in Him. He has told us that He will be with us always and never leave us or forsake us (see Hebrews 13:5). Often it takes that “knife in our heart” to drive us to Him. Our faith is dependent upon God, and when we enter the valley of grief, we need His help or we’ll never overcome the sorrow that weighs us down. And we can be a friend to others who don’t know the peace that comes from Jesus. The best way to help others is to tell them about the Friend that cared enough to die for our sins and bring salvation and peace to our hearts.

On this week's broadcast Angel Murchison interviews Prince and Mwango Youmbu, from Dubai. Together, they carry God's message of love, reconciliation and of his return to the ends of the earth. Tradition and idolatry had been their way of life in their family from generation to generation, and they worshipped the skulls of their ancestors and poured libation to appease them. Even when baptized and became Christian, this tradition still lingered. It was until 2017 that the Lord Jesus made things right through his mighty deliverance in their lives. The Lord then gave them the mandate to take his word to the ends of the earth and extend his loving kindness to all flesh. They started this new walk with the Lord in the city of Abu Dhabi-UAE, where they held cell meetings, sharing the word of God and having communication on a weekly basis. : Temptation is a very powerful thing. Scripture says that mankind is in spiritual warfare and that enemies have power and skill to tempt us. This is why the Bible warns us to flee temptation and not give Satan a foothold (James 4:7; Ephesians 4:27). But often people do not stop to think about that and do not call on the Name of the Lord to keep them from temptation. Many people believe that when they come to know Christ they will never encounter temptation, but when it comes they are unprepared and in conflict. Sometimes there is a yielding to temptation that leads to discouragement and remorse. The devil tempts and God tests. The Bible says that God allows Satan to tempt us but God uses it as a test often to reveal how weak the flesh is.
