Seattle Mariners Baseball Podcast

The Seattle Mariners took a day off on Thursday, but resume action tonight as the Cleveland Indians visit for the first of three games over the weekend. Aaron Goldsmith will visit and help preview the upcoming series. We will also take a trip through time to the year that Rickey Henderson played for the M's.

Boston Red Sox avoid the sweep at the hands of the Seattle Mariners. It was a rare struggle for Iwakuma and Lloyd McClendon will talk about it. The bullpen was outstanding once again as new member Brandon Maurer was electric. Dennis Eckersley will give us his thoughts on Felix Hernandez. We will also hear from the M's first round draft pick Alex Jackson. 

For the second night in a row the Mariners take the lumber to the boys from Boston. The M’s launched two long homers and you will hear them along with all the highlights. Several Mariners will react to the game and the five game winning streak. Rick Randall will update us on everything going on in the M’s system. 

The Seattle Mariners destroyed the Boston Red Sox in the first game of their three game set. Logan Morrison homered twice and reached base five times and he will talk about it. Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn passed away earlier today and the impact has been deeply felt. The 15 time All-Star spent 20 years in a Padres uniform pounding out a remarkable 3,141 hits while maintaining a lifetime .338. Gwynn's greatness on the field was perfectly matched by his warmth and wiliness to give back to the game off the field. We will pay tribute to one of the best hitters in the history of the game. The Mariners beat the Padres last night and we will preview today's game. 

The Seattle Mariners salvaged the final game of the three game weekend series with the Texas Rangers on Sunday. Hisashi Iwakuma was sensational again and the opposing manager will verify that fact. After over 1,000 Major League games John Buck played a new position. He will tell you how he made himself ready for it. Bullpen Banter is back as Charlie Furbush visits with Brad Miller. Mike Blowers shares a funny story about a former teammate with a fantastic arm and the tattoo to prove it.
