Let's take a moment to wave goodbye to Blockbuster SZN 2018. Here with our final entry of the summer action flicks, who would have thought that 56 year old Tom Cruise would still be at the top of his game? He's a throwback in this age, just like the lovely can art of this week's beer. Hopefully you've planned accordingly, because this week's opening was derailed by one man's plan. Don't worry, though, as we got back on schedule to discuss DC TV shows, the definitive Inception ending take, Marvel post-Infinity War…. fallout (winks), Hollywood Birthday Hijinks, and the triumphant return of Al's Ales! This movie provokes thoughts. Good, bad, happy, sad. Confusing? Sure, but definitely thoughts. Indifference isn't an option. So exactly the opposite of a DCEU movie. We also had thoughts on upcoming movies and their expectations, the death of Moviepass, the (alleged) top 100 episodes of TV in the new millennium, and adventures in movie editing. O, and beer, obviously. Oh shit! With the summer blockbuster season winding down, we're throwing it WAY back, to the original summer blockbuster. We figured that Shark Week was the perfect timing for it. Oh, and the beer choice? Well let's just say that the universe works in mysterious ways, because much as we'd like to claim the credit for perfectly planning it out, the beer selection was somewhat serendipitous. But not to be outdone, our other discussion topics are a perfect mixture of some of our favorites: new movie trailers, reboots and franchises, movie landscape musings, plus a sneak preview to next week's episode…. I feel like we're forgetting something. That's right, we debate the merits of a movie star's acting Hall of Fame credentials. You'll have to listen to find out who though. Don't like it? BLOCKBUSTER SZN RAGES ON!!! This week it's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Jack’s Abby is here to stay. We don’t usually kick off our synopsis with the beer, but we’ve enjoyed every one of their entries so far, and this one stuck to the trend…. We may do every single beer in their catalog. For this week, it’s simply Bier. Drink it. Like we did, discussing Darkest Hour. Continuing our trend of belatedly talking about Oscar relevant movies well after they’re released, and somewhat after the Oscars. We’re sorry. But we’re not sorry we saw this movie. Black Panther is excellent, as advertised. That only scratches the surface of our discussion this week, as our rambling was elite. Beer, namely the return of Newburgh Brewing Company’s New York Boss, Nick Cage antics, Harry Potter musings, story time, Garland Sundays, and… wait for it…. a dramatic reading of graphic Nerd Porn Poetry. To be clear, not poetry about nerdy things, but rather a reading of poetry, about porn, written by a nerd. It’s a lot to handle. That’s all before the main event. This episode is bursting at the seams with content, so clear your schedule, because it’s a 5 star episode of Flix & a Six, only on The Spinchoon!

Timely as always, we have some thoughts on Get Out. Oh, what’s that? (checks calendar) Ah, it’s been over a year since Get Out was released. Sorry….. Wait the Oscars they’re (checks calendar)…. damn it that was like 2 weeks ago…… Better late than never? Yeah, let’s go with that. In other examples of our resounding competence at this, this episode also features long winded discussions about the impending release of Ready Player One, Jon Favreau and his Star Wars show, animated media and adult perception of it, and this delicious beer we drank. Well that last part at least a core facet of our show. So grab a Left Hand Brewing Wake Up Dead Russian Imperial Stout, because we highly recommend it. It’s a jam packed episode of Flix & a Six, inly on The Spinchoon!

If that title seems aggressive, here are some thoughts:  *Deal with it *Did you see this movie? Yea, aggressive doesn’t cover half of it *I mean come on this is some solid wordplay Sorry folks, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s all take a deep breath, because that movie was an EXPERIENCE. That’s probably the best way to put: you don’t watch this movie, you experience it. It’s as intense as any movie out there; visually, audibly, emotionally, viscerally. And that beer? Well, it’s not all those things, but it’s pretty damn delicious. We appreciate what Alchemist has done with Heady Topper, and again here with Focal Banger. This movie is a trip, this beer is excellent, and we think the newest Flix & a Six was too, only on The Spinchoon!
