This week on the Oasis Podcast, not only did we get a new space, but we're talking about how we can go about studying the Scriptures. The Oasis Staff (Brennen, Jaena, and Dylan) talk through the C.I.A. approach to reading scripture and how using that can help us better understand God and the complete story of the Bible.

In week four of "Toxic Theology," Brennen walks us through the brutal reality of Jesus' life. The persecution, the suffering, and the pain. Being a Christian means following Jesus and the goal of the Christian is to be formed into the likeness of Christ. Therefore, when hardship, suffering, and persecution come believing the lie that Christianity is the Easy Life, will only lead to disappointment. The Christian life isn't about ease, it's about Jesus and Jesus alone.

This week on the Oasis Podcast, Brennen, Jaena, and Dylan chat about what books they've been reading and give a short preview of the ones they'd recommend. So whether you're hungry for a new read or looking for some good books to help you grow in your faith, this is the episode for you!!

In week three of our series "Toxic Theology" Dylan walks through the problem of sin that has influenced our understanding of having fun and how through Jesus we can live in the instruction of Paul to Timothy. That despite our youth, we are to be an example to all believers.

Asbury University, a college in the small town of Wilmore, Kentucky is having thousands of people flock to its campus to be apart of what is being called revival. So is it revival? What is really happening there? Should we do anything about it? Tune in this week as the Oasis staff (Brennen, Jaena, Dylan) dive into what is happening in Kentucky.

In week one of our new series "Toxic Theology," Brennen explains what toxic theology is. This series is about statements usually said with good intentions, but that end up being more hurtful than they are helpful. Then, we address the common advice to "follow your heart," which can be incredibly harmful as our hearts are broken and marred by sin. But through Jesus, we can be given a new heart, and as we follow Him and His ways, our hearts can stay clean.

In our final week of our relationship series XOXO, Jaena brings the word on what it means to love ourselves. When it comes to self love, people can fall into two camps, but God desires us to find the middle ground. In that we can forgive who we were, love who we are, and desire the person God wants us to be.

Intimacy is kind of a weird word honestly, but this week we are talking about intimacy with God! Brennen, Jaena, and Dylan sit down and talk about how we can grow in intimacy in our relationship with God, address a lie we may believe about our relationship with Him, and what it looks like to involve God in every part of our day. When talking about creativity most people count themselves out because they're not artists. But, that's not wholly what it means to be creative.
