Lockdown can't stop us from watching movies and talking about them for your listening pleasure, so here we are with a look at haunted house movies from 1960's 13 Ghosts through to 2019's Girl on the Third Floor. Our features are the Thir13en Ghosts remake and the Daniel Radcliff-starring The Woman in Black, plus we review new releases The Hunt and Color Out of Space, and there's another round of our clips quiz, Scary Noises!

This month Phil Jerrod returns to the Devil Times Five panel, and we navigate our way through the horror filmography of George A Romero: a man who made more than just zombie movies... but also some of the best-known zombie movies. And aside from the usual hot takes and Scary Noises, this episode contains an unmissable story about a particularly unusual screening of The Lighthouse...!

This month the Devils take a deep dive into the largely direct-to-DVD Hellraiser franchise. Are all the later sequels really as painful as they're reputed to be, or is there some pleasure to be found? Meanwhile, Luke's seen The Grudge 2020 and has things to say about it, and of course there's another round of our audio clips quiz, Scary Noises.

In our last episode of 2019, we look at the ghostly J-horror phenomenon of the late 90s and 2000s, with featured movies One Missed Call and Ju-On: The Grudge, as well as other big hitters like Ring, Pulse and Dark Water, and more obscure selections Paranormal Activity 2: Tokyo Night, Carved and Sakebi. Shambolic, gross, braindead and lacking in basic standards of humanity, Italian zombie movies share a lot in common with their memorable villains. This month the Devils are power tooled-up to chop their way through the longest-running slasher franchise: the eight films in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, as ranked by our listeners! But first, we need to talk about Midsommar (and Annabelle). Featuring CJ Lines, Emily McQuade, Bryony No, Luke Poulton and Cliff Barnes, and with apologies to Jessica Biel and Trey Songz.

Shapeshifters, seductresses, space vampires, space slugs and pod people are just some of the aliens who've invaded the Earth in horror cinema over the years. In this month's episode we take on John Carpenter's The Thing and Jonathan Glazer's Under the Skin, along with a crashed spaceship's worth of other alien invasion movies, from Predator to Alien 2: On Earth. Plus: our thoughts on recent releases The Perfection and Ma, and another round of Scary Noises.

This month we look at monster movies, and our featured creatures are the adorable but deadly mogwai of Gremlins, and the giant nuclear ants of Them!. We've got Critters! We've got Grabbers! We've got whatever those things are in Attack the Block! And we also go back to the black & white era for Godzilla, King Kong and Tarantula, and you'll get to hear Bryony act out the entire plot of Tremors in under 30 seconds. Plus, there's a hilarious surprise new game, as well as your usual serving of Scary Noises.

This month the Devils take a characteristically speedy jaunt through the giallo work of the directors listed on Cliff's favourite t-shirt: Mario Bava, Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci and Sergio Martino, plus a few other notable films from the genre's heyday. Our featured movies are Don't Torture a Duckling and Deep Red, we play another round of Scary Noises, Luke and Sarah give their thoughts on new cinema releases Hellboy and Greta, and perhaps best of all, we've got a new favourite sound clip: the "Mrs Johnson" guy.

This month the Devils - including our new arrival, Luke Poulton - examine the horror and horror-adjacent films of writer-director M Night Shyamalan, from 1999's The Sixth Sense through to 2019's Glass... and let's just say, we won't be tagging Shyamalan into our tweets about this episode. On the whole we're not fans of his work, but we hope you enjoy hearing us explain why! Plus - we give our thoughts on new releases Us and Lords of Chaos, and there's another round of our movie clips quiz, Scary Noises.

This month the Devils tackle a slightly lighter subject: musicals, albeit ones in which lots of people get killed. Our features are 1986's Little Shop of Horrors and 2014's Stage Fright, plus there's a tricky round of Scary Noises, and you'll get to hear our thoughts on new teen horror release Happy Death Day 2 U.

For our 25th episode, the Devils end up going doolally trying to unravel horror's most complicated franchise: Saw, from the 2004 original to 2017's comeback, Jigsaw. Cliff & CJ rate it as the best series ever made, but will Emily, Phil and Bryony agree?

On this month's show, we've got cannibals, serial killers, zombies and even trolls... if someone on screen is filming it with a camcorder, then we're talking about it on our investigation into Found Footage horror. Plus, our highs and lows of 2018, another round of our clips quiz Scary Noises, and our thoughts on Netflix's new post-apocalyptic thriller, Bird Box.

The movie world seemed to go vampire crazy in the 1980s, and this month the Devils take a look at some of the most popular vamp flicks, as well as some deeper cuts. Our features are The Lost Boys and Near Dark, plus we discuss Fright Night, Vampire's Kiss, The Hunger and more.
