In this sermon of the week, Kent Mattox covers the story of Zacchaeus. He brought salvation to Zacchaeus' entire house. This concept connects to Rosh Chodesh. God wants us to celebrate the monthly cycles. Rosh Chodesh is a time to hear what God is saying to us. When we celebrate Rosh Chodesh, we're actually bringing Heaven closer to Earth. We believe that this is a way for us to realign not only our houses, but our communities, and regions with God's purpose. A prophetic vision that Beverly Mattox had, showed her a thousand houses of light in our community - a thousand houses that are bringing Heaven closer to Earth.

Elijah was a powerful prophet. So powerful, as it says in James, that he was able to prevent rain for three years and six months through his prayer. Despite this, even Elijah struggled with his faith, as it says in I Kings 19, when he was threatened by Jezebel. But there is a powerful message in this story - if we will get moving again, just take the next step that God is telling us to take, our problems will be taken care of. When your ship starts to flood, don’t bail, press forward!

This week is all about the Feast of Tabernacles. This is a designated week of feasting and celebration. It is a special time to put aside our regular activities and feast on His goodness. Now is the time to posture your attitude into the new season and year, taking the limits off God’s ability to provide exceedingly above anything you think or ask.

Rosh Hashanah is a time biblically where we return back to the garden, or the source of the original blessing, trusting that as we’ve repented for our sins and shortcomings, we’ve got a brand new opportunity and new start to move forward with God. Kent Mattox provides us with five powerful lessons to enter the Hebraic Year 5777 with.

Rosh Hashanah is a spiritually significant time of year. It is a time to ask yourself, “What do you want out of life?” It is a time when our resolutions are backed by God’s power, allowing us to be propelled forward in a new year. Follow along with us as we enter this time of refreshing.

When we hit walls in life, they are meant to stretch us and move us out of the places we’ve been stuck and into something new. When we are frustrated and on the verge of breakdown, it is very likely the beginning of a breakthrough. God wants to get us to a way of living that allows us to advance through a trauma and prepare us for a future of radical transformation. For most of us, our attitude is to call on God when we are in trouble, when we need something, or when we want something. We want the Holy Spirit to follow us wherever we’re going rather than being led by Him. But if we want to be called children of God, we must let the Holy Spirit lead us (Romans 8:14). Lift is the push that lets something move up. It is the force that is the opposite of weight. “...When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight” (Isaiah 59:19). The Lord is ready and capable of lifting you up and out of your circumstances no matter the heaviness you are bearing! Then, as a follower, it is our job to stretch out our hands to others and lift them up with the same power that has lifted us.

Throughout the Old Testament, there is a great emphasis on staying in cycle with God's seasons and timings. Follow along with us as we detail the spiritual significance of the Jewish Month we are entering into, the Month of Av. This is the season to rise up and walk in the promises of God.

When Jesus healed the man at the Pool of Bethesda, a man who had been sick for 38 years, he spoke to him saying, “Rise, take up your bed and walk”. In our own lives, we wait for God to rescue us from our destructive cycles when he is waiting on us, saying rise up and walk.
