Q&A #163 - Follow up, heaven healing the nations, knowing what is right, civil worship, end times, leaning on God, our stories, sharing the faith with kids 1) I’ve never heard of the idea of what heaven would be like quite like you all discussed it last week. Where are some of the Biblical references that would lead to those theories? I’d be interested in looking into it more.  Also, along those lines of heaven being a place where we get to fully enjoy all that God has created, do you think that there will be sex in heaven? If so, does that mean you’d be with the same spouse you had on earth? Do you think that would mean people who die single never get that experience? What if their desires had always been marriage and family, could someone fall in love in heaven? Or have children there?  The theory you’ve presented is fascinating and has so many nuances. 2) In revelation 2:14, in the letter to Pergamum, Jesus seems to be holding a few things against the church, including eating meat sacrificed to idols

Q&A #162 - Sex in heaven, meat offered to idols, Isaac a BIG rabbit trail, prayers of non-christians, soul/spirit/heart/mind 1) I’ve never heard of the idea of what heaven would be like quite like you all discussed it last week. I’d be interested in looking into it more.  Also, along those lines of heaven being a place where we get to fully enjoy all that God has created, do you think that there will be sex in heaven? • Q&A #161 - Early Jewish/Christian Practice, What to do in Heaven and rage towards our kids...

    06/05/2020 Duración: 37min

Q&A #161 - Early Jewish/Christian Practice, What to do in Heaven and rage towards our kids... 1) In Acts 2:46 it says that every day the believers continued to meet together in the temple courts. Was meeting in the temple courts everyday a normal practice for a jew? Considering they were now under a new covenant, why did they keep meeting at the Jewish temple? 2) Q&A from my 15 yr old... What does God want us to do in Heaven? We’re supposed to tell others about Jesus on earth, but when we get to Heaven we all believe, so what do we do there? Important to know... the kid does not like music/singing, so praising Jesus is not an answer that flys with him.

Q&A #160 - Love thy Gay Neighbour, Pain, Rage, Self-care, Addiction, LGBTQ+ Affirming, Jesus Destroying Satan and Ishmael 1) I often listen to several podcasts a pastor was asked will being gay send you to hell he said no being gay will not send you to hell being self righteous and rejection of the gospel will send you to hell . My wife works with several gays and my neighbour’s are gay they are great friends. We are told to love thy neighbor why do some church s will love there Hindu and Muslim neighbor s but not love there gay neighbor s

  • Q&A #159 hey, Melissa's back!!! Jesus as a child, Easter and Christmas, and real life pandemic-caus

    22/04/2020 Duración: 01h01min

    1) With all the layoffs at church, what will happen with kids ministry when church starts back up? 2) I’m working with a Muslim we often share our belief s he was questioning if the prophet Mohamed was mentioned in the bible? 3) In reading Hebrews 5:15-16 it talks about how Jesus was faced with the same temptations we are but didn’t sin - do you think he never sinned because of the God part of him and therefore his closeness to God? Do you think it’s actually possible as humans to live a sinless life? It’s hard to understand that even as a child Jesus never would have lied to his parents or fought with his siblings or something. 4) If Jesus was walking on earth right now, and observed how we celebrate Easter and Christmas, what do you think he would have said about it? 5) We heard a lot from Jesus about what the kingdom of God is LIKE, and I understand that, like the church, it is not a place you go to, but that is is also on earth. So what exactly IS the kingdom of God? 6) I've been casually readi

  • Q&A #158 When will Melissa be back? God and Corona Virus? Fine Art and Sin?

    15/04/2020 Duración: 31min

    1) is Melissa coming back to the podcast soon? We miss her! 2) I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. - Revelation 22:18 So if that’s in the bible, we can assume they knew someone was going to alter it...it was altered the second it was translated to a different language. Now we have an endless number of interpretations and endless debate on which version is right and wrong, is it not best to assume they are all incorrect due to no longer being in their original language and no one knowing 100% the proper translations... how do you decide what is the truth and what has been altered to suit the current ruler at the times will? I have cheat codes where I talk to God and God responds... does every Christian have that? Because

  • Q&A #157 Does Closer to God equal further from man? Forever afflicting ourselves in Leviticus 26 (co

    08/04/2020 Duración: 10min

    1. Do you sometimes feel like the closer you get to GOD the more you are misunderstood by man? If so isn’t this kind of weird as one would think that becoming more like Christ should make us more loving, gentle and meek so then in turn we should be easier to understand? 2. Leviticus 16:29 says: “And it shall be a statute to you FOREVER that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict yourselves and shall do no work, either the native or the stranger who sojourns among you.". Now, I know that Jesus as the sacrifice is the new and permanent atonement for us, but why, knowing that Jesus would someday die for our sins, did a God command that we afflict ourselves, and why do we not honour this day when we were commanded to do so forever?

  • Q&A #156 - Jesus Healing in COVID 19, Fear Not and Does John 6:65 imply predestination

    01/04/2020 Duración: 19min

Q&A #156 - Jesus Healing in COVID 19, Fear Not and Does John 6:65 imply predestination 1. I also saw the discussion regarding my question about Jesus and what he would do today during COVID. I have a follow up question. If Jesus would continue to heal and lay hands on the sick IE Lepers what are the ramifications for us? Should we be doing this as well as we have are supposed to be able to do the same as Jesus did. John 14:12. 2. The Bible often commands us to ‘Fear not’, would fear itself be a sin because it is a command or would the sin of fear come more into play when we let it stop us from what God is calling us to so it becomes disobedience? 3. Does John 6:65 imply predestination? What does it mean?

  • Q&A #155 Sin or Foolishness, Are we supposed to be alone, Rich young ruler and Jesus in covid 19

    25/03/2020 Duración: 31min

Q&A #155 Sin or Foolishness, Are we supposed to be alone, Rich young ruler and Jesus in covid 19 1. The more I read the Bible the more I see the common themes of wisdom VS foolishness and holiness VS sin. My question is, is there a difference between foolishness and sin or are they just different perspectives in the same thing? 2. In Genesis God creates a women after seeing it is not good for man to be alone. But in Corinthians Paul says he wishes church members would remain unmarried. How do I reconcile this? 3. Is there a specific context that we should have in mind when Jesus tells the Young Rich Ruler to go sell all his possessions, and give them away? Just because I know that in some cases it's not very wise to give away all you have because then you become dependent upon other people to help you, and you can't really help people yourself in the way you could if you had those resources. 4. If Jesus were physically here today would he disobey the government and continue to ignore social distancing, la

    11/03/2020 Duración: 29min

Q&A #154 Apprenticing Jesus, is Eternal Fire a real place?, dying twice and does God have seven spirits? 1. (1:40) I would like to ask that if you had one book to suggest on how to best apprentice JESUS, what would it be? 2. (11:30) In Matthew 25:41 Jesus talks about being cast into an eternal fire. Is that a real place or is that a story telling mechanism? 3. I understood that it was appointed that we each die once. In Revelation 21 v-8 it states that those that receive the lake of fire "hell" are given a second death, How can you die a second time? I thought your next place was permanent? 4. (21:20) Twice in revelation it says that God has seven spirits, but I thought there was only one spirit, the Holy Spirit. Who are the other six? ___________________________________________ Resources Listed (Book) The Great Omission - Dallas Willard (Book) The Divine Conspiracy - Dallas Willard (Book) After You Believe - N.T. • Q&A #153 Security, New scriptures, modern sacrifice, marriage help, and really being transformed

    04/03/2020 Duración: 39min

Q&A #153 Security, New scriptures, modern sacrifice, marriage help, and being transformed 1. (0:41) For security reasons should the church not be locked during the day when there is only the secretary there? 2. (1:15) Last week you talked about how many books can be inspired by God but only the Bible is regarded as scripture? But isn't that only because a group of Christ followers decided the books we have are important, hundreds of years after Jesus left and all the disciples died? What's stopping that from happening again with modern "inspired" books so there is less room for misinterpretation due to cultural issues we misunderstand in the new testament? 3. (11:20) The Bible talks so much about sacrifice and how its important to sacrifice to the right thing in the right way. But I'm having trouble putting those terms into modern society where we don't sacrifice anything anymore. How do I apply all these teachings on sacrifice to this time we live in? 4. (18:30) In addition to prayer to soften my heart

    26/02/2020 Duración: 49min

Q&A #152 Female Voice, Jesus a Nephillim, Inspiration, Sex, Joel Osteen, Enneagram, Evolution, Change the church and parenting 1. (1:29) I do enjoy your panel, but I think it would be enhanced with the female perspective. Where are the female pastors? 2. (2:30) Is Jesus a nephilum? And if so is that bad? 3. (5:15) Of course Jesus' words are the Word of God, and New Testament writers were eye-witnesses but is it really the only Word of God? I feel when 2 Peter and 2 Timothy talks about scripture being God-breathed, they are referring to the Old Testament (since that's all they had at the time). I am not saying many of their words were not Spirit-led (they were) but when, for example Phillip Yancey prays before he writes a book that the Spirit will lead him, will the Spirit not lead him? Will his book not also be led by the Spirit. In one letter Paul is specific to say that this particular opinion is not of the Lord, but of him (1 Cor 7:12). 4. (9:15) There seems to be a lot of different religious views

  • Q&A #150 - Illuminati, Mega-church pastors, Nephilim, Wexit and the Shack

    12/02/2020 Duración: 49min

Q&A #150 - Illuminati, Mega-church pastors, Nephilim, Wexit and the Shack 1. The illuminati - what is the church's take on its existence and its potential link to satanism? 2. Why are so many well known pastors of mega churches and other influential church leaders being caught up in adultery the past few years? These pastors seem to come from different denominations and geographical areas, so what is the common factor? 3. What are the Nephilim the old testament talks about? Are they still around? 4. What's your take on wexit? 5. Have any of you watched the movie "The Shack" And if you have what is your opinion on it?

  • Q&A #149 - Depression/Anxiety and will heaven be boring?

    05/02/2020 Duración: 17min

    1. I have a friend who has been wrestling with self harm and suicidal thoughts because of his anxiety and depression for a long time and he has gone to the hospital lots and they just give him more pills and the pills make him feel awful and more depressed and numb and then he gets more anxious. I believe God wants to help but how? 2. In our current state on earth we have pain, death, suffering, sadness, boredom, and other not so pleasant things. However without pain and death, exploration and adventure in God's beautiful creation would lose much of its excitement. Without pain and the risk of exposure, relationships would not require hard work and could never be as deep and meaningful as they are here. Yet the Bible says that in heaven, there will be no more pain, death, or tears. As good as that sounds, I wonder if an eternity without those things would get tedious no matter how much pleasure and fulfillment in God there is. What are your thoughts on this?

  • Q&A #148 - Revelation, Teachers, Leadership disagreement, non-violence, difficult friendships & Budd

    29/01/2020 Duración: 41min

    1. In Revelation 12:11 it says that “they have conquered him (the accuser of the brethren) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” I would think that most people who claim to be Christian’s would agree that “There is power ….. In the precious blood of the Lamb

  • Q&A #147 - Kingdom come vs will be done and abortion

    22/01/2020 Duración: 25min

What is the difference between “Your Kingdom come” and “Your Will be done”? How do you specifically pray for these things to be done in your own lives? According to Jewish law, abortions are permitted, and in a study in 2015, 83% of American Jews were in favour of abortion. However their views are quite nuanced and very biblically based. How come abortion seems to be such a hot button topic for Christians when the faith we inherited has a deep, well thought out, nuanced support of abortion? https://www.myjewishlearning.com/article/abortion-in-jewish-thought/

  • Q&A #146 - Nerdy pastors, male friendships, what keeps you committed to Christ? Fearfully and wonder

    15/01/2020 Duración: 42min

    1. What are you nerdy about? 2. Why don't many men pursue each others hearts, and how can they? 3. What keeps you personally committed to faith in Jesus when it's way easier and feels better to do whatever you want? 4. I was born with a birth defect that has left me looking, well, less than desirable. But the Bible says I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I don't feel wonderfully made. It seems I'm a victim of a world that's just not perfect, but if that's the case, am I actually fearfully and wonderfully made?

  • Q&A #145 - Scripture for heartbreak

    08/01/2020 Duración: 06min

    1. What are some scriptures I can go to in the midst of heartbreak?

  • Q&A #143 - Isaac's trust, Introvert Jesus and Jesus' frustration

    11/12/2019 Duración: 18min

    1. I submitted the question about Abraham and being willing to die for God last week. The question was originally asked by my 7 year old son and I submitted it unfiltered. As you talked about it on last week's podcast, I realized he was seeing the story of abraham and Isaac through Isaac's eyes, and from that view Isaac was trusting his Father and obeying to his death. Does this change your answer to last weeks question? The question was "If God told you to do something, and you know you would die if you did it, would you still do it. Because God told Abraham to kill his son and he obeyed." 2. Was Jesus an introvert? 3. In Luke 9: 37-42, Jesus frees a demon possessed boy that his disciples could not. Jesus says "you unbelieving and perverse generation... How long shall I stay with you and put up with you?" who is Jesus speaking to? The people? His disciples? What is he trying to communicate?

  • Q&A #144 - Tattoos/Plastic Surgery, Lazarus, Peace

    11/12/2019 Duración: 18min

    1. What's the Christian view on tattoos and piercings? And what about makeup and hair dye? And if tattoos are okay, then what about hair transplants, or boob/butt jobs, or lip injections? 2. How does Luke 16:26 (“And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.'” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:26‬ ‭ESV) fit with your third theory from your message on hell? Perhaps it’s a matter of context that I don’t know about but wouldn’t this verse suggest that no one can ever get out of hell which would contradict the third theory? Or is this just an example of support for one of the other theories which is why no one can really be dogmatic about any of them? 3. In Luke 10:5-6 (NIV) , Jesus sends out his disciples telling them to say "peace to this house". If someone who promotes peace is in the house, your peace will rest on them. And if not it will return to you. What does it mean for peace to return to you?
