On the college football edition of the GSMC Football Podcast host Tom Dougherty discusses the Urban Meyer press conference and goes over the schedule for the upcoming Kickoff Week. Urban Meyer, Gene Smith, and Ohio State president Michael V. Drake held a press conference after the 10 hour deliberation session between President Drake and the Ohio State board of trustees. The press conference started with the announcement of the 3 game suspention for Urban Meyer and the two week suspention handed down to Gene Smith. Tom gives his thoughts on how the men answered questions from the media and talks about the systemic issues at Ohio State that allowed all of this to happen. A starting QB has not been named at many of the nations top football programs. Alabama, Clemson, USC, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Texas, Texas A&M and UCLA have not decided on a QB, and some thing Jim Harbaugh is still waivering at Michigan. Will only 10 days till the opening game for many of these teams there is still alot to be answered. A few programs may let the competions ride into the season. Dabo Swinney has continued to say that if Trevor Lawrence is the best in practice he can get the job, same goes for Kelly Bryant. Tua and Jalen Hurts are still trying to "win the team" at Alabama, while USC may have an early recruit in J.T.
