Strange Highways

This week we take a look at 1981's The Monster Club, a weird little anthology hybrid horror/comedy/rock and roll show that stars Vincent Price, John Carradine, and Donald Pleasence. We learn what a Shadmock is, to beware of men with violin cases, and whatever the hell a Humgoo is. Monsters rule, Ok?

This week Kevin and Paul take a look at the 1994 made for TV special Rod Serling's Lost Classics. Hosted by James Earl Jones, it presents two stories previously unpublished stories that Carol, Rod's wife, found in a trunk in their attic. The first tale, The Theater, is about a lady who ends up seeing parts of her past, and possible future, play out in front of her on a movie theater screen. The second tale, Where the Dead Are, is about a doctor in 1868 who views death as an opponent to be defeated and after an emergency surgery on a man that should have been dead years before, the doctor heads to a mysterious island where death isn't the worst thing that can happen. 

This week Kevin and Paul take a slight detour into the 1980's anthology series, Amazing Stories. First up is Ghost Train, directed by Steven Speilberg, which is about a grandfather that is convinced a train he missed as a child is coming back to pick him up. And the second one is Mummy Daddy, a story about an actor that is stuck in a mummy costume who is trying to get to the hospital in time for the bith of his child.

Suddenly two Troopers enter to let eveyone know that they followed a set of foot prints that led to the diner from a crashed object that landed in the nearby frozen pond... 

This week Kevin and Paul get onto a very crowded subway and meet Mr. Archibald Beechcroft, an easily annoyed man who just wishes he could eliminate all the people in the universe...

This week Kevin and Paul suddenly end up in a court room to see the sentencing of one Mr. Adam Grant, a man who is being sent to his death via the electric chair. He tells everyone that they need to let him live becuase if he dies, everyone in the world dies with him...

The week Kevin and Paul are hanging out at a gentlemen's club (not that kind) and overhear a strange wager between two men. Mr. Archie Taylor challenges Mr. Jamie Tennyson that he can't go a full year without saying a single word...

This week Kevin and Paul head out to a secret cave lair in Death Valley to meet a crew of criminals right after they pull off a complicated heist. The only things left standing between them and their freedom is their own greed, mistrust, and about 100 years of sleep... 

This week Kevin and Paul take a trip back to 1995 and watch an episode of Are You Afraid Of The Dark? We discuss The Tale of Station 109.1 involving a young kid who is obsessed with death, his older brother who is played by Ryan Gosling, and special guest star Gilbert Gottfried. Does the show hold up? Do we survive? Are ghosts allowed to drive? 

This week Kevin and Paul head back to the year 1847 and join a wagon train lead by Mr. Christopher Horn, a man determined to have a better life for his family and those following him. With supplies running short, morale running low, and his son running a fever, Christopher makes a last ditch effort at finding help as he heads out beyond the rim...
