After a holiday hiatus, Dana and Vincent return for the first new episode of 2019!! There's a holiday post mortem where Vincent saw Celine Dion and every movie imaginable in less than a week while Dana channeled the spirit of Angela Bassett in "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" sans bringing a 21 year old Jamaican home with her. Pop Culture took no rest during the break, so the duo also get into the latest with Cardi B, Tiffany Haddish being "un-ready" for her New Year's Eve show, Ed Sheeran's potential musical plagiarism and reviews of a plethora of films in the "At The Movies" segment.

It's the most wonderful time of the year everyone!! It's time for the second annual Somewhere Over The Rainbow Podcast Holiday Extravaganza bonus episode!! Don your gayest apparel and get your background singers ready for this bonus episode where Dana and Vincent share more of their favorite holiday songs, movies and best moments of 2018 in music, television, and pop culture.

It's the final new episode of 2018 and there are so many awards to cover, including someone coronating themselves as the "King of R&B" at the ripe old age of 24! There's also a "How Did I Miss This Moment" featuring T-Boz (a contender for King of R&B over Jacquees), "Yeah or Meh" featuring a competing podcast with Ron Burgandy (who is also a contender for King of R&B over Jacquees), and a "We See You Girl Award" for Daniel Dae Kim (also a definite contender for King of R&B over Jacquees).

After stuffing themselves over the Thanksgiving holiday, Dana and Vincent return to the land of pop culture (a little lighter thanks to Activia) featuring this week's "Yeah or Meh?" segment with the highly anticipated release of Ariana Grande's video for the song "Thank U, Next", reviews of "Creed II", "Widows" and the SheRa reboot on Netflix and a "How Did I Miss This" moment wherein Dana discovers one of her favorite 80's New Wave acts was on Soul Train.

In a moment of "it's never too late", the world has finally realized the greatness of Mariah Carey's "Glitter" soundtrack, and Dana and Vincent are rejoicing this as well as Mariah's new album "Caution". Additionally, the dynamic duo give their thoughts on simulated fellatio (aka air blow jobs), the new (but not new) Sexiest Man Alive, the American Horror Story: Apocalypse finale, the hotness of Riverdale and more!

It's a celebration of Vincent's 38th birthday and a realization that he's almost 60 in gay years (gasp)! To honor this special occasion, Dana and Vincent do a quick dive into the week in pop culture before heading off for Vincent's birthday dinner including thoughts on the 2019 nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (vote for Stevie Nicks!!!), thoughts on "The Conners", Vincent's review of "First Man" and this week's "Yeah or Meh" segment with Idris Elba in spandex as a cat.

Dana and Vincent have gone Gaga over the new "A Star is Born" remake and its music (AAHHHHHAHAAAAAAA). In addition to a review of the new Lady Gaga film, they discuss another week in "The Reckoining" with Bill Cosby, a week in pop culture that featured Bette Midler getting read to filth for her tweets, Cardi B's glamourous perp walk and a review of Fall TV shows where Vincent declares his undying love for Jay Hernandez.

A brand new week in pop culture finds Dana and Vincent celebrating the bop that Mariah Carey has given us as an anthem for the times! Also there is more news in "The Reckoning" involving Les Moonves, a breakdown of Emmy's 2018, movie reviews of the new Quincy Jones documentary and "A Simple Favor", Yeah or Meh featuring Captain Marvel and Maroon 5 and a special "We See You Gurl" shout out for one of the MTV Teen Moms.

This episode is almost as long Queen Aretha's funeral (well minus about 7 hours), but chock full of pop culture goodness. Dana and Vincent cover it all from RIP moments for Burt Reynolds and Mac Miller to the Nikki Minaj/Cardi B fight during New York Fashion Week to an onslaught of witches on television and a thwarted job shaming of Geoffrey Owens from the Cosby Show. There's also a movie review segment and this week's "Who Asked For This?!" moment with the Care Bears and High School Musical.

This episode also features reviews of the films "Christopher Robin", "BlackkKlansman" and "Crazy Rich Asians" and this week's "Who Asked For This?" moment featuring a reboot of "Designing Women" and a "Pretty Woman" musical on Broadway.

From the ashes of the lost episode that was Episode 39 (first take) comes the phoenix now known as Episode 39 (Redux)! A technical difficulty moment with Dana's former laptop brings forth a new laptop, new perspective and a new episode. All your favorites featuring another installment of "The Reckoning" with R. Kelly and Les Moonves, Week in Pop Culture featuring an RIP moment for MoviePass, the enigma of people who still buy tickets to see Lauryn Hill (she's cancelled several dates like we warned everyone would happen) and a digression from a potential Jonas brothers double wedding to the Brady Bunch. As if that wasn't enough, there's a "Who Asked For This?!" moment with Alf, Fraiser and Africa (the song, not the continent). 

It's oppressively hot in California right now, but the heat will not keep Dana and Vincent from kiki-ing about everything that's happened in the last couple of weeks pop culture wise. So much is covered from "summertime sadness" with Joe Jackson (Michael's Daddy, not the singer of "Steppin' Out") and Whitney Houston, to more in "The Reckoning" with Chris Hardwick and Terry Crews, and the "Week In Pop Culture" with diversification of the Academy members, thoughts on the RuPaul's Drag Race Finale and more!

The show was off for a week, and in that time, Jackie from "Roseanne" won a Tony award and Beyonce and Jay-Z released their first joint album "Everything Is Love". Dana and Vincent weigh in on both as well as a potential Black Panther to Birdman (movie, not rapper) transition, the new season of Real Housewives of Orange County (and Vicki's new face) and a Yeah or Meh segment featuring Alicia Silverstone, "Incredibles 2" and "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom".

The deaths of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain cast a sadness over this week in pop culture (RIP to them both), but there were some bright moments including the new Insecure trailer and Issa Rae's roasting of Kanye West. Dana finally sees Solo: A Star Wars Story, so she and Vincent finally get to review it which prompts Dana makes a plea for a cape (because she needs one). Dana and Vincent also give their thoughts on the new Ryan Murphy show "Pose" and Vincent finally comes up with his drag name!

It's Pride season children and in honor of the season, we have compiled a list of what we feel are pop culture essentials to celebrate and honor the LGBTQIA community. While by no means definitive, these films, television shows, documentaries, events and books are a great way to celebrate pride this month!

It's officially Pride Month, African-American Music Appreciation Month and most importantly, the FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE SHOW (!!!), which is cause for a major celebration! Dana and Vincent reminisce about some of their favorite moments from the last year as well as get into the week in pop culture including the Roseanne cancellation, BTS (aka K-Pop Teletubbies), Vincent's review of the Taylor Swift concert and more!

While Dana and Vincent somehow missed their invitation to the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markel (congrats you crazy kids!!), they are still able to give all the English tea on what went down at the second most anticipated wedding of the century...after Big and Carrie's of course! Also on tap this episode, more darkness and light in "The Reckoning", a rundown of the fall TV lineup, Laurel or Yanny (or who really cares), Dana momentarily hacks up a lung, and this week's "Yeah or Meh" featuring the "Bohemian Rhapsody"/Queen biopic trailer, She-Ra Princess of Power reboot and the "Happytime Murders" trailer (think Avenue Q meets "The Heat").
