When it comes to the gifts of the Holy Spirit no gift is likely to have more questions asked about it than tongues. It was from such questions our community has been asking that prompted this message. Basing most answers on the truths found in 1 Corinthians 12 and 14, here are some of the questions this message addressed: How should we understand the gift of tongues in today's culture? Should every Christian expect to speak in tongues? Are tongues new revelation and on par with the Scripture's authority? Should the church today expect the same experience of tongues as we read about in the book of Acts? Did Paul teach anything about how tongues are best used when Christians are gathered together?

What does it mean for us to go on the journey of becoming people who are marked by being led by the Holy Spirit? In this time we looked at why the "reign" of sin being ended (Romans 5-8) in our lives is a key experiential truth for us to begin to be able to be led by the Holy Spirit. We also spent some time looking at the deep connection of sin and self, and the devastating impact our ingrained cultural value of self and self-sufficiency has on our capacity to grow in experiencing being led by the Holy Spirit.

In the first sermon of the series on relationships, we examine our relationship with ourselves: who are we? what is our relationship with our own image? how does that impact our relationships with other people?

Randy interviews Matt and Kristen about their adoption of their son, Dylan, and the beautiful role the Midtown community played in helping them through the process. At the end of this clip Randy and Tom walk us through the baptism and dedication of Dylan.
