Ruth 3:1-18
03/05/2020 Duración: 46minAudio Transcript: Hello. Welcome to our online service, Mosaic Boston Brookline. My name is Jan. I'm one of the pastors here at Mosaic, along with Pastor Shane and Pastor Andy. We're so glad you are tuning in. Here in the beginning, I want to tell you a story. The story is of my third daughter, Katarina, who is also known by Ekat, AKA Katya. Three names, three separate personalities. Katarina is her Russian personality. She grew up speaking Russian at home. We recently discovered that she speaks fluent English without us ever having taught her a lesson. On top of that, we realized that she doesn't just speak English. She can speak valley girl English. And we found this out because Tanya, my wife, opens up her phone, and she finds a video of Ekat recording herself. And she goes like this. "Hi guys. My name is Jasmine. And I'm from Australia. And I'm a Christian and I love God. And by the way, can you guys comment and subscribe and like below?" First of all, we have no idea that she watches YouTube videos.

Ruth 2:1-23
26/04/2020 Duración: 55minAudio Transcript: Hello, welcome to the Mosaic Boston Brookline, our online worship experience week, I've lost track. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, whatever time you're watching. We're so glad that you tuned in. Today we are continuing our sermon series through the phenomenal book of Ruth. One of the things I've been meditating on regarding preaching is in the preaching process, it feels like cooking. God often compares God's word to food, be it bread or spiritual manna or honey, and one of the challenges of preaching into a camera is I'm cooking and I don't see you eating, and that's part of the joy of cooking is seeing people enjoying the meal. However, people have been writing and people have been messaging us that God's word has been impacting them. It's been changing them, it's for nourishing them, and we are so thankful for that. God's word is powerful and God's word does nourish our souls and this is what God's word does. God's word is a feast presented to us. When we come humbly befor

Ruth 1:1-22
19/04/2020 Duración: 56minAudio Transcript: Good morning. Welcome to Mosaic Boston Brookline online. My name is Jan, one of the pastors here at Mosaic and we have been praying for you, continuing to pray for you, continuing to miss you, thinking about each one of you and praying for the Lord to continue filling you with the spirit and sanctifying you. This is the seventh week that are holding an online service instead of an in-person worship gathering. As strange as it is, we're here. I've never thought we'd become a televangelist ministry, but here we are. We're at the point in the pandemic where perhaps you're there, perhaps you can relate where we're beginning to worry about some of the superficial consequences of the pandemic. We're worried about the deeper ones and perhaps you find yourself with a corona fatigue. The conversation I'm having with some people, I'm beginning to worry about things like their haircuts. I haven't had a haircut in way too long. I'm at a point where it's either a pandemic mullet or I cut my own hair o

Easter Sunday
12/04/2020 Duración: 42minAudio Transcript: Hello welcome to our online Easter service. Greetings, happy Easter, happy resurrection day, we're so glad you're with us. It's strange not worshiping together on Easter. However, we have access to Jesus Christ because of his resurrection from anywhere anyhow even in our PJ's, we will worship him. One of the things that we do at Mosaic as a church on Easter Sunday is we do a call and response. That's been done in the church throughout the ages. I say 'Christ is risen' and I welcome you to say, 'he is risen indeed' three times, louder and more emphatically every time. So would you join in with me? Christ is risen. Christ is risen. And Christ is risen. Praise God. Let us pray over the preaching of God's holy word. Heavenly father we thank you for your resurrecting power. We thank you that because of the death, the burial and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we have access to you, to worship you the great God of the universe in spirit and in truth no matter where we are, no matter

Good Friday
10/04/2020 Duración: 49minAudio Transcript: Good evening, welcome to this online experience of Mosaic Boston Brookline. Today we are celebrating Good Friday. So happy Good Friday, and it is a celebration. To understand the greatest news in the history of the world we need to understand Good Friday. One word to our listeners, one word for those listening online. In the same way that I have had to adapt to preach God's word, and it does take adaptation, I ask that you dear listener adapt to listening to God's Word on the screen and it's a different skill. It's different. I work really hard to communicate God's word so that it's heard. And I ask that you work as hard to listen in order to hear. And I say that because there's distractions. You're at home, your phone's right there. If you're watching with somebody, it's easy to start into commentary on everything. And so I just ask that you set everything aside, and that you focus on God's Word. In particular, you focus today on the sufferings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Wo

Cut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’ 8 And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on m

Would you please pray with me over the preaching of God's holy word? Heavenly father, you are sovereign and we submit to your plan. God Our Refuge 1
15/03/2020 Duración: 32minAudio Transcript: Hello, Mosaic Boston family, and if you're joining us for the first time online, my name's Shane, and I'm one of the pastors at Mosaic Boston Brookline. In just a moment, we're going to have a special message from Pastor Jan, encouraging us from the Scriptures. But before we do, just a couple of things. First of all, we want to acknowledge that we understand that this is a bit weird. Two weeks ago, none of us could have imagined, expected, that this is where we would be, but this is where we are now, and so we want to make the best of it. With that in mind, just a couple of things. First of all, it's important for us as a church to stay connected spiritually, and even virtually, during this time where we've been encouraged to distance ourselves from one another physically. And so, if you haven't done so yet, we would encourage you to download the Mosaic Boston app, keep up to date with the things going on, on our website, and check your e-mail often for further updates about what will b

You command us over and over, fear not for you are our God, for you are with us, you are a good shepherd. Lord, we pray for our city, we pray for our country, we pray for the world. In particular, we pray for your supernatural intervention in curbing the Corona virus COVID-19. We pray Lord, send healing. We pray, Lord, that you stop the growth of this virus. You can, you have healed in the past, you do heal today and we thank you in advance. And we do Lord, thank you for the reminder

We are beginning a new sermon series today that is going to take us through the season of lent all the way up to Easter and really excited about it. I usually go into these sermon series with a lot of excitement, but I am just upfront. This one is a little bit different. I'm excited, but it's a somber excitement. It's a very sober excitement. We have a very serious topic that for the next six weeks we're going to be looking at and what we're going to be focusing on throughout this series is the work of Satan and demons and how that plays a part in our lives and it's not a topic that we enter into lightly nor should we. A scripture frequently pulls back the curtain on physical reality and shows us that there is a spiritual realm and th

Holy father, you are a good God and you want the best for us so we glorify you, great God and we thank you for your law. We do confess that often as we look at your commandments, it does seem burdensome. It seems difficult. It seems as if life would be simpler without them. I pray today, Lord, forgive us of breaking your commandments. We thank you for the cross of Christ and the work of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ who fulfilled all of the law and extends to us a righteousness, forgiveness, grace and mercy and also Lord we thank you for sending us the Holy Spirit who empowers us to live a life in line with your will, to cry out and pray. We confess that you are glorious and majestic, and that you are exalted, that you are transcendent, and that you are imminent. You are above and you are here with us today, closer than our very own hearts. Lord, we thank you that you have loved us so much. Your love is greater than the distance between the earth and the highest of the heavens. We thank you Lord that you proved your love to us through your sacrifice of Jesus Christ, that Christ you poured out your blood for us to redeem us, to make us twice yours. We are yours in creation, and yours as children of God, the Father. Holy Spirit, come and show us where in our hearts we are esteeming ourselves as great and esteeming you as lesser than you are.

Heavenly Father, on communion Sunday today, we just want to take a moment to confess that we are sinners, that we are selfish, that all too often our own self-interests dominate our thoughts, dominate our imaginations, and take up our energy. Lord, I pray today that you focus our gaze from ourselves and refocus it on you. We are not glorious. We are not infinite. You are glorious, and you are infinite, and you are love. We thank you, Lord, that you showed us with true love is, that you, the Father, gave your Son, your beloved, the one in whom you delight, and, Jesus, that you showed us what love is, that you gave yourself for us on the cross, that you through the gospel defined for us that true love is action, that true love is sacrifice of self for the benefit of others and that s

You did not leave us in our sin, you did not leave us in our fall, you didn't leave us in our darkness, but you sent your son, Jesus Christ who came through the incarnation. Jesus, fully God, fully man. You came and the eternal broke into the temporal, the infinite broke into the finite and Lord you came to save us because there's nothing that we can do to save ourself and we thank you that salvation, true salvation monergistic. Holy God, heavenly Father, we thank you that you are a noble God, a personal God in the sense that you want our person to relate to your person, to know who you are and you want us to know whose we are, that we are yours and we're bought with the blood of Jesus Christ. Lord, we confess even now that often we live as if we are our own. We live as if we are at the center of the universe. It's so tempting to feel like we are the center of our lives and we are not. Remind us that Lord you are the center. You are the point. You are the essence and the total of reality. And we thank you for sending your son, Jesus Christ to show us that, to show us what it means to live in obedience to you, to show us what it means to live a life of love toward you, love towards people. Welcome to Mosaic Boston, Brookline. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Tyler. I'm the teen director here and I am really excited to be worshiping with you this morning. And I say that partly because I was real nervous coming up to this. I always get nervous before I preach, but as amazing as our worship team is, even they could not have planned how perfectly those songs line up with what we are talking about today. Each and every verse in those songs, I was like, "Oh, I'm talking about that. Oh, I'm talking about that." And so it is clearly moving of the Holy Spirit and I'm encouraged by that and I hope you're encouraged by that too. But before we begin, will you pray with me over the preaching of God's word? Heavenly father, Lord, we come
