In this episode, we traveled to Berkeley, CA to visit the Canopy Berkeley class at the Berkeley WeWork. There we sat down and interviewed Chris Cimino, founder/CEO of MyStrain. MyStrain brings creative, smart labeling to the cannabis industry. Chris has quite the background too. Working formerly for the DA, Chris saw the profits cannabis companies were making and decided to jump into the industry. His startup allows dispensaries more control over their own labeling and packaging for white label products. In addition, it can allow dispensaries to write off more costs for COGS under the infamous 280E law. On September 20th, 2016 at the Oakland Museum of California, the first cannabis startup conference took place. With a focus on founders, startups, and raising capital, this event was the first of it's kind to get the tech community involved in cannabis.
