26/03/2020 Duración: 01h11minLogan and Hunter are back discussing Survivor: Winners at War, this week breaking down why it's tragic that we won't get to see any more Sandra on our screens, before jumping into the immediate schism between Michele and Wendell (that later gets fixed), Rob's Rashomon retelling of landing 3 fire tokens, the obvious vote outs from both Dakal and Yara and of course the challenge where Sele loses. We discuss both the politics of and the challenge they had to perform out on Edge of Extinction and how their game differs so dramatically from what a 'normal' Survivor game is. After a little tin-foil hat conspiracy talk regarding Sele's challenge win, things kick into high gear for Dakal, starting with Tyson immediately focusing on sending Nick home, but it ultimately backfires, was it worth it for Tony and Sarah, though? Rotten Butterbeer Podcast: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 1
21/02/2020 Duración: 02h32minLogan and Ali are back for our penultimate episode of the Harry Potter binge, this week discussing Deathly Hallows part 1, and while it drags at times, this movie is 2.5 hours of setting up for the final battle between Harry Potter and Voldemort. We look back at the 12 year journey of the release of the HP movies, and compare the production to 'Boyhood' and Avengers, but there has really never been a blockbuster series as ambitious in its' scope as the HP franchise. We then dive into the narrative and discuss themes of choices, redemption, and morality as the trio branch off from their yearly Hogwarts excursion to attempt to destroy all the Horcrux's. A journey that separates them from the wizarding world for much of the plot, before being thrust back into the Malfoy's residence for an epic conclusion, and maybe the saddest death in the whole series. Harry and Co have to confront everything from their past before being able to move on to the final battle against Voldemort and all the corruption and hatred he

Rotten Butterbeer Podcast: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
06/02/2020 Duración: 02h31minAli and Logan and back discussing Harry Potter, this week we're covering chapter 6 of the story, the Half Blood Prince. This film is clearly an extended good bye to the friendship between Harry and Dumbledore, while also setting up the end game for the final battle between Voldermorts army and all that is good in the world. The theme of loss of innocence and not being able to trust anyone is present throughout this story as we explore Snapes journey from a outsiders perspective knowing his true intentions and the agreement he had with Dumbledore. We are also introduced to Dumbledore's old friend, Professor Slughorn, as his mind contains an important memory related to Tom Riddle's earliest sinister creation of the horcrux's. Join us as we explore the last 'regular' school year for our favorite trio before everything falls off the deep end into the final battles of Deathly Hallows.Follow us on Twitter @helloalievans + @HedrichFiles

Rotten Butterbeer Podcast: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
23/01/2020 Duración: 02h02minLogan and Ali are back to discuss Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the first film to start setting up the series finale. With Voldemort officially back, Harry and Co are tormented by not only his return, but also the introduction of Professor Umbridge which finally gives the audience a deeper look into the corruption of the Ministry of Magic. With it becoming ever more apparent that there will be a war between good and evil coming later on, Order of the Phoenix starts introducing characters like Bellatrix Lestrange to show the depth of Voldemorts army and the real and present danger they represent. This was clearly one of the toughest books to adapt because of the colossal size of the novel, so obviously some major cuts needed to be made, so how did David Yates do in his first foray into the Potter franchise? Ali and Logan butt heads about Luna Lovegood and Ali finally comes clean about her IRL Neville Longbottom home wrecker story.

Rotten Butterbeer Podcast: Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire
16/01/2020 Duración: 02h02minLogan and Ali are halfway through their Harry Potter binge and this week we're breaking down the Tri-Wizard tournament inside the Goblet of Fire. We get to experience a bit of the Quidditch World Cup, but is it anything more than a narrative device to introduce the Deatheaters? The Wizarding World is ever expanding in this movie with the introduction of the other two schools for the tournament, but what is it that makes Goblet stand out from the other films in the series? Cedric, Fleur, and Krum are all new main characters introduced to the story and each have their strengths within the tournament, is the audience given enough time to connect with them, though? Voldemort and the final graveyard sequence are a masterwork in storytelling and setting up the Dark Lord as being back to near full strength to foreshadow our final battle with Harry Potter, but what makes this scene so epic?Follow us on Twitter: @HedrichFiles + @helloalievans

Rotten Rose Podcast: Bachelor Ep 1 + 2
15/01/2020 Duración: 51minLogan and Producer Diana are back to discuss ALL the drama from the few two episodes of Peter's season of the Bachelor, including all the cringeworthy first impressions, who the early favorites are, who we each picked in our draft, all the #ChampagneGate drama, if Hannah Ann is our new Luke P, why Victoria F is so awkward, and why this should be an all time classic season.Follow us on Twitter: @HedrichFiles

Rotten Butterbeer Podcast: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
09/01/2020 Duración: 02h53minLogan and Ali are finally onto chapter 3 of the Harry Potter franchise with Prisoner of Azkaban and there's a lot of backstory regarding the production and how the producers landed on Alfonso Cuaron before we dive deep into the themes and narrative of this film. Curaon's fingerprints are all over Prisoner, which needed a visionary director to thrust the Potter franchise into a darker and grittier realm. While there may be one giant time travel sized flaw with this film, it is a masterwork of foreshadowing later stories for the greater series while also being a sort of spin off story because of the lack of Voldemort in the film. Why has the general public been mislead about what really happened with Sirius Black? How much knowledge did Dumblebore actually have of the time traveling plan? All these questions and more are discussed on this weeks episode of Rotten Butterbeer!Follow us on Twitter: @HedrichFiles + @helloalievans

Rotten Butterbeer Podcast: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
02/01/2020 Duración: 02h25minLogan and Ali continue their Harry Potter binge and this week its Chamber of Secrets! we discuss the new major themes introduced from prejudice, and identity to fear of the 'other' from the introduction of House Elves and Voldemorts 'true-blood' ideology. Chamber of Secrets lays the foundation for the final conflict of the series, but is it a good stand alone film? Chamber is essentially anti-Slytherin propaganda, but is that a bad thing? The rotating door of Defense against the Dark Arts teachers brings us Professor Lockhart and all his dripping ego, but is he underused in the film? Tom Riddle and his diary are the next piece of 'endgame' material introduced early on in the series and the Chamber of Secrets itself is a clever narrative tool to introduce ancient Hogwarts lore to the viewer, but does the film hold up?Follow us on Twitter: @helloalievans + @HedrichFiles
