Psalm 63
23/02/2025 Duración: 44minReader: Anne Miller Preacher: Jonathan Smith Psalm 63 is a call to always praise God - especially when we are at a low point in our lives. We have a tendency to try and find other things in our lives to satisfy our needs, yet they all leave us dry and desolate, without water (Ps 63:1), but God is the fountain of never ending water. In comparison, it is ridiculous to seek these other things when God is there. Red Door is an Anglican Church in Melbourne, Australia. Psalm 100
16/02/2025 Duración: 42minReader: Joanna Justus Preacher: Joshua Henessey Psalm 100 is a short psalm of praise and thanksgiving, but like everything in the scriptures, it is full of depth. Josh tells us not only why we should do as the psalm says but also how we can do what the psalm says. He also shows us that Jesus not only preached what is said here, but he also lived it out. We are called to do the same. Red Door is an Anglican Church in Melbourne, Australia. We exist to be a community of people helping people make all of life all about Jesus.

Psalms 112 and 113
09/02/2025 Duración: 45minPreacher: Chad Loftis Today guest preacher Chad Loftis is looking at Psalms 112 and 113. These two psalms look at the rightessnous we should live and the rightessnous of God. We may think that our rightessnous comes from us living a certain way, with high moralistic values, etc, but Chad tells us that our rightessnous comes from how we live in relationship with other people and how we treat them. Psalm 39
02/02/2025 Duración: 57minReader: Levi Dacion Preacher: Jonathan Smith Music: Josh & Bek Today Pastor Jonathan is looking at Psalm 39. Our society today does whatever it can to avoid talking about death. Jonathan even spoke about where in the past he has spoken about death in sermons, some people reomstrated with him. The bible, however, is full of death, and this psalm is no different. If we look at death as inevitable and focus on living our lives to the fullest in Jesus and placing all our trust into God for our future, then death has no power over us, and that is very good news. Psalm 4
26/01/2025 Duración: 52minReader: John Hargrave Preacher: Jonathan Smith Music: Bek, Josh & Susie Today Pastor Jonathan is looking at Psalm 4. David, the all powerful king, realises that he does not have the power to solve all problems. So many of our leaders today try to make us believe they can solve society's problems - economic, housing, employment, law and order. Instead, society is left more divided. David tells us that only God has the ability to solve all of our life issues, and Jonathan supports this argument as well. Putting our trust in anything other than God and his son is idolatry. Psalm 46
19/01/2025 Duración: 01h30sReader: Judy Carr Preacher: Jonathan Smith Music: Red Door Worship Team Today Pastor Jonathan is looking at Psalm 46. This psalm opens with the verse "God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble". At certain times in our lives it feels like God is not there, but he is. God also commads us in verse 10 to "Stop fighting, and know than I am God." Other translations have this verse as reading "Be still, and know that I am God." Jonathan hints that what we are fighting is the busyness, hurry and overload in our lives. God commands us to stop fighting this busyness. Red Door is an Anglican Church in Melbourne, Australia. Psalm 36
12/01/2025 Duración: 46minReader: Daniel Yong Preacher: Josh Hennessy Music: Josh Hennessy & Bek Hudson Today Josh is teaching from Psalm 36. It seems that this psalm is telling us that evil people will be punished and those who follow God are blessed, however Josh asks us to look deep into this psalm. Jesus told people that many who claim to follow him will be rejected because they are following a God of their own making and not truly following him. This is the crux of this psalm - if we are only following God for the things he brings to us and not truly following him with our heart and soul, then we are one of the people Jesus says "I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers" (Matt 7:23). However, if we are doing our best to make God the centre of our life then we can only marvel at the blessings of God in this psalm where his faithful love reaches to heaven (v5) and his righteousness is like the highest mountain (v6) Red Door is an Anglican Church in Melbourne, Australia. Psalm 146
05/01/2025 Duración: 43minReader: Gehan Pereria Preacher: Jonathan Smith Music: Josh Henessey Today Pastor Jonathan is teaching from Psalm 146, a psalm which starts with the command Hallelujah! Literally, this word means "All of you, praise the Lord", and with the exclamation point, it's a command. When we read this, we often take it one of two ways - with pride because we are praising God daily, or with dispair because we are not. Jonathan teaches us that we're looking at this wrong. In John's gospel (Jn 17:4), Jesus says that he's completed everything God has asked him to do. This statement is BEFORE his crucifixion and resurrection, so what is Jesus referrring to here? He is referring to the way that he has lived his life in constant praise of God, and so, as being members of the body of Christ, we can worship and praise God freely. Jesus is the leader, and we are just a part of the choir, where the sound of all voices together in praise is beautiful. Red Door is an Anglican Church in Melbourne, Australia. We exist to be a commu

Psalm 30
29/12/2024 Duración: 49minReader: Danita O'Loughlin Preacher: Jonathan Smith Today we start our twelfth year of exploring the Psalms during the summer break. Pastor Jonathan is teaching from Psalm 30, a psalm where David looks at how great things are when he's walking with God, but also how bad things are when he turns from God. The message from this psalm is that even though he was far from God at the time he wrote this, David turned back to God. The same applies to us. When things are going very good in our lives, it's then that we have a tendency to turn away from God, and then fall into sin, but God, in his mercy, disciplines us to bring us back into right relationship with him. Judges, Kings & Prophets
25/12/2024 Duración: 23minPreacher: Josh Henessey Today is Christmas Day, and in this message Josh goes back to the start of creation. This seems like a strange place to start when it's Christmas. Shouldn't we start at the birth of Jesus? No, Josh wants us to understand why Jesus was born, so we can marvel more at what God has done for us. Mary
25/12/2024 Duración: 36minReader: Jonathan Smith Preacher: Doug Carr Music: Josh Henessey Today is Christmas Eve, and in this final message from our series of The Women Of Advent, Doug tells us of the story of Mary, a young woman who would have been ostracised by her culture for being unmarried and pregnant. Yet throughout this whole series we have seen how God has incorporated women considered "scandalous" by their society into his redemption plan for the world. We can take comfort in this, particularly when we recognise that we are not righteous, but God in his grace, still chooses to use us for his plans and glory. Bathsheba
22/12/2024 Duración: 48minReader: Marios Kyriakou Preacher: Jonathan Smith Music: Josh Henessey & Bek Hudson This week is the fourth week of Advent for 2024. Today Pastor Jonathan is looking into how Bathsheba fits into the birth of Jesus, exploring no matter how broken people are in their behaviour, God can and does use these very people to bring about his plans. We can take comfort in this, particularly when we recognise that we are not righteous, but God in his grace, still chooses to use us for his plans and glory. Today Tibor is looking into how Rahab fits into the birth of Jesus, exploring no matter how broken people are in their behaviour, God can and does use these very people to bring about his plans. Tamar
01/12/2024 Duración: 44minReader: Levi Dacion Preacher: Jonathan Smith Music: Josh Henessey & Joanna Justus This week is the start of Advent for 2024. In this series, we look at the women mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus in the first chapter of Matthew's gospel. Today Pastor Jonathan is looking into how Tamar fits into the birth of Jesus, exploring no matter how broken people are in their behaviour, God can and does use these very people to bring about his plans. We can take comfort in this, particularly when we recognise that we are not righteous, but God in his grace, still chooses to use us for his plans and glory. The Persistent Widow
24/11/2024 Duración: 53minReader: Gehan Pereira Preacher: Jonathan Smith This week Jonathan is preaching from Luke 18:1-8. This short parable reveals that as we wait for Christ's return, Christians will suffer injustice. Unlike the judge in the parable, God is just and will eagerly hear and answer our pleas for help. Our part is to persevere in prayer. Today we are doing something a bit different. Normally we end the sermon with a song that is reflective of what we have just heard, however, we end today's message with prayer for the persecuted church around the world, keeping in line with the teaching from this parable. Red Door is an Anglican Church in Melbourne, Australia. We exist to be a community of people helping people make all of life all about Jesus.

The Lost Boys
17/11/2024 Duración: 59minReader: Doug Carr Preacher: Jonathan Smith Music: Leslie Edis & Josh Henessey The Parable of the Prodigal Son reveals that God’s love and grace is immense beyond our wildest dreams. Irrespective of the mess we have made of our lives, his overwhelming desire is to welcome us home with open arms. However, as per all of Jesus's parables, there is more to ths story than we normally think. This story is actually about TWO lost sons - the 'bad' son who squandered his father's wealth, and the 'good' one who stayed home. The church is like the 'good' son - at times thinking we are better than others, when in reality we are not, and so therefore miss out on the overwhelming desire of God to welcome us into the party as well. The Grand Banquet
10/11/2024 Duración: 46minReader: Anne Miller Preacher: Jonathan Smith Music: Josh Henessey, John Hudson & Bek Hudson Today Pastor Jonathan looks at the parable of The Grand Banquet. Jesus turns the social norms of the first century ancient world upside down when he says that we shouldn't invite people to our social events because they can return the favour to us. Instead, we should invite those who can never repay the favour. God's kingdom is exactly like this. God has invited us to the everlasting party that will be in heaven, but there is absolutely no possible way we could repay him. We are the the poor, maimed, blind and lame in this parable because we are spiritually poor, maimed by the power of sin, blinded from seeing the truth and lame because we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven on our own. The Good Samaritan
03/11/2024 Duración: 36minReader: Danita O'Loughlin Preacher: John Hudson Music: Josh Hennessy, Joanna Justus & Bek Hudson Today John looks at the parable of The Good Samaritan. Often times we look at this parable and hope we can be like the Good Samaritan, but John wants us to look at this parable from a different perspective. What if we are the person who was robbed, the victim who the Good Samaritan helped? If Jesus symbolises the Good Samaritan, do we recognise the full grace and sacrificial love we have been given, like the Good Samaritan has provided to the robbed man? The Unforgiving Servant
27/10/2024 Duración: 36minPreacher: Jonathan Smith God’s forgiveness is vast and extravagant, and he calls the forgiven to exercise grace in forgiving others from the heart. The consequences for unforgiveness are dire. This week Pastor Jonathsn look at Jesus’ convicting parable of the unforgiving servant. Red Door is an Anglican Church in Melbourne, Australia. We exist to be a community of people helping people make all of life all about Jesus.
