Join us today for Gospelstudy! ​"I marvel that you are turning so quickly from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, ​which is not another; except there are certain people who trouble you and wish to pervert the gospel of Christ. ​But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach a gospel to you other than what we preached to you, let him be accursed. ​As we have said before, and I say again just now, if anyone preaches a gospel to you other than what you received, let him be accursed." (Gal 1:6-9)

Preached at Island Community Church on March 10th, 2013. Taken from Romans 15:13--"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing."

Join us for our last study in Romans. We focus on this verse: "Now I urge you, brothers, to look out for those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them." (verse 17) Always remember: The Holy Spirit unites, Satan divides.

Paul told those in Rome that he wanted to come there and visit but he was hindered. And the reason he was hindered, in this case, was because he was "occupied" with kingdom work! You and I ought to do likewise! "And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come." (Luke 19:13)

Today we continue through Romans chapter 15, as Paul is wrapping up this letter, with some closing remarks, including: Rom 15:14  Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, having been filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish others. Today on the Gospelstudy podcast, the Apostle Paul gives us this instruction: (15:1) ​We then who are strong are obligated to bear with the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Don't have a verse 23 in Romans chapter 14 of your Bible? The Majority Text does, and most Greek manuscripts add Paul's closing doxology to the end of Chapter 14, which we look at today! (14:24) Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began,(14:25) but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the eternal God, for obedience to the faith--(14:26) To the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever! Amen

Today on the Gospelstudy podcast we continue our look at Christian Liberty regarding food, and the freedom to eat whatever we like, as long as we don't offend another brother by what we eat. Join us! (14:14) ​I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean of itself; except to him considering anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. (14:15) ​But if your brother is grieved on account of your food, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy with your food the one on behalf of whom Christ died. (14:16) ​Therefore do not let your good be slandered. (14:17) ​For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. (14:11) ​For it is written: "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God." (14:12) ​So then each of us shall give account concerning himself to God.

Today we start chapter 14 of Romans on Gospelstudy Rom 14:7-9  For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.  (8)  For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's.  (9)  For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

Today the Apostle Paul tells us it is high time to wake up, and to be roused out of sleep! (13:11) ​And do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for us to be roused out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. (13:12) ​The night is advanced, the day is at hand. Therefore let us put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. (13:13) ​Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelries and drinking bouts, not in orgies and debaucheries, not in strife and jealousy. (13:14) ​But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.

Today we look at Galatians 1:6--"​I marvel that you are turning so quickly from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, (1:7) ​which is not another; except there are certain people who trouble you and wish to pervert the gospel of Christ." Again, as Paul teaches in this letter, salvation is "sola gratia, sola fide," By grace alone, through faith alone!
