Living Like a Dead Man
22/03/2014Oreste's message on Sunday 4th December 2011 is available for download. Oreste takes a look at the parable of the sower and the example that Jesus set His disciples when he washed their feet. Herein lie significant keys to understanding the Kingdom of God; it is this Kingdom understanding that becomes the catalyst that enables increasing abundance and fruitfulness in the life of a disciple. In the Kingdom of God understanding is always coupled with holy actions that are pleasing to Father God. In this message those actions find their place in scriptures where the Apostle Paul exhorts us to die to the attitudes, motivations, principles and methods that are opposed to the purposes, practices and knowledge of God. This is what it means to die to the old sinful self in order that you may live for God increasingly as a new creation; it is the outworking of the eternal life that Jesus came to bring His followers - it is living like a dead man.

Inspiration, Perspiration & Transformation Pt 1
22/03/2014Oreste's message on Sunday 11th December 2011 is available for download. In part 1 of this message Oreste talks about the inspiring God given vision of a redeemed, restored and regenerated society that honours God through its people who serve one another in humility, sincerity and with great joy. This society or community is the kingdom of God. It is this kind of God-inspiration that stirs the Jesus follower with the motivation to work hard for the coming of God's kingdom. This diligent work represents the perspiration of the disciple as they carry out their God-given assignments referred to in Ephesians 2:10. Inspiration and perspiration that flows out of the purposes of God for His people and His earth is what brings about a positive transformation in the individual life of anyone who seeks to honour God. It will also bring about positive transformations among groups of people, our local communities and the entire earth.

Inspiration, Perspiration & Transformation Pt 2
22/03/2014Oreste's message on Sunday 18th December 2011 is available for download. In part 2 of this message Oreste continues to look at the inspiring God given vision of the coming of His kingdom. This kingdom vision is to find practical expression in the communities that surround a local church. The responsibility to see this vision of transformed communities come to pass, belongs to all those who are disciples of Jesus Christ. For the disciple this means being committed to a local church, committed to the local community that church finds itself in and committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ over their entire lives. When a disciple finds themselves positioned before Christ, their local church and the community in this way, they are free to be serving humbly, learning openly and living joyfully. It is from this position of freedom that the disciple is able to fulfil the assignments that God has appointed them to do for His glory and the blessing of the communities they are called to influence. In this way each

Your Time Will Come
22/03/2014Oreste's message on Sunday 25th December 2011 is available for download. At Christmas as we celebrate the birth of Jesus we can focus on the babe born in a manger and lose sight of the fuller scope of the celebration. The Christmas celebration heralds the announcement and declaration of Jesus the Christ who entered into our broken world to establish, build and bring to completion God's kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. This kingdom is an everlasting kingdom of justice, peace, truth, joy, righteousness and life. Apart from this kingdom there is no other that will endure into eternity. Jesus is what Christmas is all about and after the celebrations have ended the significance of Jesus has not. He is the Saviour and Lord of all. In the light of this revelation that has been given to all humankind our response to Jesus is clear - '...you must listen to everything he tells you...' (Acts 3:22). Your time will come when you must respond to Jesus. Be wise and listen to Him. Jesus is your guarantee of eternal

Holy Hunger? Eat Fast Food!
22/03/2014Oreste's message on Sunday 15th January 2012 is available for download. Oreste looks at the place of the physical body in enabling spiritual transformation into Christlikeness or holiness. He shows how spiritual disciplines are the means through which the body can be trained to act consistently with our mind and spirit. Oreste focuses on the spiritual discipline of fasting as a means of satisfying our hunger to be more like Jesus. When we fast we are replacing our intake of physical food with spiritual food; as Jesus said, we do not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. This is the spiritual food of the fast or "fast food". So if you have a holy hunger, one thing you can do to satisfy it and be further transformed into the likeness of our Master Jesus is to eat "fast food" by practicing the spiritual discipline of fasting.

Corinthian Chaos
22/03/2014Oreste's message on Sunday 26th February 2012 is available for download. Oreste begins a series that looks at the Corinthian Christians. Attention is given to the substance of their lives compared to what the Apostle Paul expected of new creation inwardly transformed persons in Christ. Paul's letters to the Corinthians reveals the chaos in this church and in the lives of a number of Christians. Only as the weapon of the word of God is used to demolish thoughts, attitudes and intents of the heart that are opposed to God, can order and peace be established in the follower of Jesus. Chaos will give way to emerging Christ-likeness as we are changed from glory to glory into His image.

Followers, Forgiveness & Pharisees
22/03/2014Oreste's message on Sunday 18th March 2012 is available for download. The message in Luke is one of the nearness of the Kingdom of God where Jesus is calling anyone and everyone to enter into it by repentance and faith. As Jesus continues His miracle filled good news mission on earth to bring sinners back to relationship with God, three key things emerge; people are coming out of the crowd to follow Jesus, people's sins are being forgiven by Jesus, and the self righteous ones (Pharisees) are opposing Jesus. Be encouraged, comforted and challenged as you listen to this message and understand the nature and heart of Father God as seen through the life and mission of Jesus.

God's Kingdom: Blessed & Greater
22/03/2014Oreste's message on Sunday 25th March 2012 is available for download. Jesus speaks to His disciples about the nature of the Kingdom of God. He describes how the subjects of this Kingdom (His disciples) think, choose, act and experience life in a radically different way to the subjects of the Kingdom of this world. Jesus gives insights and revelation that differentiate God's Kingdom as blessed and greater. It is a Kingdom that will never end; where there is no death, misery or distress but life forevermore for those who accept the invitation to enter it by repentance and faith in Jesus.

We Are Sent to Sow the Gospel
22/03/2014Oreste's message on Sunday 1st April 2012 is available for download. In the book of Luke Jesus speaks to His disciples about the parable of the sower. In this parable Jesus reveals the nature of the truth of the good news and how people respond to what they hear. As disciples this parable is an encouragement for us to be diligent and generous in sowing the seeds of the gospel message. We are not responsible for how people listen to what they have heard but we are responsible for seeing that people are hearing the good news. How else can they repent and believe unless we spread this message to them. The gospel is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. Let's get out there and sow the gospel that people may hear, believe and be saved. This is the mission Jesus was sent on and He has passed that mission onto us by sending us to sow the gospel.

Jesus is Alive - Just Like He Told Us
22/03/2014Oreste's message on Sunday 8th April 2012 is available for download. Jesus told His disciples that He must suffer, be killed and be raised back to life on more than one occasion. He was preparing them for the pinnacle of His mission that would see Him complete the work of opening up the way for people to escape death and hell and enter into eternal life in God's kingdom. Each Easter we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and rejoice that He is alive. However for the disciple of Jesus this celebration is not limited to one day in the year. It is a continual celebration of our freedom, rescue and salvation that has come through the death and suffering of our Saviour on the cross. That Saviour is Jesus and the guarantee of the truth of all He achieved for us is proven through the fact that He was raised back to life from the grave. Jesus is alive - just like He told us.

Ways We Are To Wait
22/03/2014Jasmine Crennan's message on Sunday 15th April 2012 is available for download. In this thought provoking and challenging message, Jasmine points out the manner in which disciples are to wait in readiness for the return of Jesus. We are to be watchful as we wait and yet carry on with our lives faithfully before our Lord. The biblical truths presented are those Jesus spoke of in the book of Matthew where He tells a number of parables. The message closes with the parable of the Sheep and the Goats where we are shown how closely Jesus identifies with His brothers and sisters in His body the Church. We are left with a strong challenge to demonstrate our love with action towards our brothers and sisters.

Huge Harvest But Hardly Any Helpers
22/03/2014Oreste's message on Sunday 22nd April 2012 is available for download. Oreste picks up on the theme of Jesus sending out His disciples to proclaim the good news. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. Salvation is rescue from an existence of being lost to a life of purpose, direction and eternal fulfilment. The directions to be given to a person who is lost that they may be found, is the good news that Jesus came and died for our sins and was raised back to life. Jesus said that the number of lost people waiting to be given these life saving directions is huge. He said the harvest is great but the number of willing workers or disciples who would give the directions were few. The harvest is huge but there are hardly any helpers. Be challenged and respond obediently to the Lord of the harvest, that you might be recognised by Him as one who is helping in His harvest field of lost souls.
