The law book of the Old testament opens with how to be made right rather than what is wrong! In this vain of thought, we study how the burnt offering leads us to understand the meaning of sacrifice as well as points us to the ultimate sacrifice!

Each Wednesday night at 6:30 students from Cobb and Paulding County come together to worship God, study his word, and have fun!

When is it time to end a relationship or is there ever time? These questions and more we seek to answer from God's word!

Does God care who we love? If so, what should we look for?

The demands of following Jesus extend even into our friendships. Friend is a common word, but we must uncover what is reuired. TO be a christian friend, we are called to accept others, care for others, and sacrifice for others. But in doing so, we are accepted, cared for, and sacrificed on behalf of because friendship is a two way street.

In the moment of crisis, Ruth clings to Naomi. We too are called to cling to Jesus - following him where ever he leads.

As ones who have been reset, we have a role in the reset of others. Boaz provides an example to us of how we can help in the reset of others.

Resetting causes great loss, but the gain is worth it! Ruth loses everything, but God works to bless her more than she could have imagined! Trusting in Christ will cause a loss, but the gain is greater!

To reset is to start over, wipe clean, erase all data. God offers us, sinners, vile, evil people, a chance to reset. He has performed the work, we must simply believe that it will work. And following his reset, it changes how our life operates – in line with how he has called us to live! A reset will cause loss, what you have to get to is that the gain is worth it!

Is God still working? Or has he stood us up? The questions inside us are similar to those of Ancient Israel as their waiting was growing thin. 400 years of silence was tough. God breaks the silence in an unexpected way- through an unexpected announcement. In the angel's visit to Mary, we are given an example to how we are to wait and respond to God.Mary moves us from "How can it be? to "Let it be"!

What does it take to be saved? For the mariners, it meant throwing Jonah overboard? For Ninevites, it meant sitting in sackcloth and fasting. What does it really take? Does what God requires change over the course of scripture?

Jonah 1 reveals that our choices have consequences beyond us, yet God is not surprised. God is in control of all things and works all things according to his plan! His plan is for life to come through death. Jonah primes our hearts to the message of His Son!

As we study the topic of taming the tongue, we uncver that the bible is not giving us a list of words that are "ok" to say, but challenging us to rid ourselves of any speech that fails to benefit those who hear. However, words are not the real issue, this is a matter of the heart!

Is dating ok? What is the point? Who should I date? How should I act? Answers for these questions and more are sought after in the Word as we seek to honor God even in our dating.

Lust is a consuming power that is impossible for us defeat aside from the power of the One who can and has made all things new. Our struggle is to see ourselves as deeply loved, not seeking acceptance through obedience. We must fight for our true identity in the battle against lust!

Because persecution scatters the believers, the message of Christ is able to spread farther than before. The message is taken to Samaria by Phillip in Acts 8. Through Phillip, the church's responsibility expands to all people, all nations even to the Outsiders.

From the point of view of the lawyer, this story of a Good Samaritan throws a wrench in the question of "Who is my neighbor?". Jesus turns the question on us all by asking "Will you be a neighbor?".

John 4:3-42 Jesus goes to the land of the outsiders. Speaks with the outcast. Talks of a water that never runs out. Speaks with a wisdom outside of the flesh. Stays with a people in the land of the outsiders! Every bit of this story goes against the grain, our comprehension. Yet every bit of this story gives us hope.

Why does Jesus specifically instruct his disciples to avoid the Gentiles and Samaritans in Matthew 10? What caused the divide between the Jews and Samaritans? How does this news affect us today?
