Ecclesiastes chapter 4 Without god… it will never be right This Chapter is step darker What’s life like without God? Always on the hunt World says you “NEED” more, God says to be “CONTENT” with less Solomon has been on a search for the meaning of life The world’s way are “lies” They’re sure they have the only solution to happiness Their way is empty Verse 1: no comfort in sight life seems so hopeless Returned from his search for satisfaction (Solomon has seen it all) and finds… The oppressors are the rich, the oppressed are the poor The oppressed always gets the short end of the stick The poor get poorer the rich get richer no comforter, no one to help them nothing has changed, true today Rich: The pursuit for happinesses through power, things, sex, drugs, money etc. They do what they want to do The other side always greener (do anything for comfort) (marrige / single) Christ fills the hole! Daniel – The Faithful Man Daniel 6:1-15 Daniel the Faithful Man: 1. He was faithful consistently 2. He was faithful professionally 3. He was faithful when under scrutiny 4. He was faithful spiritually Application – What’s the Point? Are you known for your faithfulness? (consistent?) How is your attitude about work and at work? Does your light shine? How do you hold up under scrutiny? How do you deal with envy or the envious? Do you exhibit an “excellent spirit”? Are you faithful spiritually? Devotional life? Reading/Prayer/Fellowship – are these your custom or just conveniences?

King, Priest, Prophet Monarchial Period & Beyond - King(ship) was an obvious office during this period, just as was High Priest(ship), though priesthood predated kingship. - all three offices, as given and as executed under the dispensation of The Law (by chosen but fallen individuals) were imperfect and temporal. - all three offices spoke of a Greater King, a Greater Priest, a Greater Prophet (that of the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ of Nazareth).
