Some people run because they like to run. It's a great form of exercising. While running equipment has changed over the years, the clothing runners wear has not changed. They wear the least amount to limit resistance. This applies to our lives as we may need to simplify our life by eliminating time on our phone and other distractions. Another way to look at running is in Hebrews 12:1. It says, "Since we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses let us run the race with endurance." God empathizes with our pain and rejection so we can run the race marked out for us; the set path. We need to finish what was clearly prepared for us whether marriage, raising children, or a specific life issue. As we simplify it helps us focus on what is really important, serving Christ Jesus, God, family, and friends. As a follow up from his Easter message, Brett reads from John 20:1-3, 9-10. We can't live without loving relationships, purpose or hope. The power of the resurrection is that we have real hope. Some of that hope comes from changed lives. If you look at the first disciples and Paul, their lives were dramatically changed because of Christ and the resurrection. Our hope is a reasonable hope.
