  • Movie Review: The Flash

    09/06/2023 Duración: 01h12min

Director: Andy Muschietti Writers: Christina Hodsonn, Joby Harold Starring: Sasha Calle, Ben Affleck, Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Michael Shannon Runtime: 2 hour 24 minutes Synopsis: Barry Allen uses his super speed to change the past, but his attempt to save his family creates a world without super heroes, forcing him to race for his life in order to save the future. Let's start off with an apology to Michael Keaton. For decades now there have been debates over which actor is truly the best Batman and for decades Mr. Keaton has been disrespected and written off in that debate. If there is one good thing to say about this Flash movie it's that it has solidified Michael Keaton as THEE Batman that all others should live up to. Hands down. There is so much wrong with this movie (starting with a problematic and horribly miscast lead) but between Michael Keaton putting this movie on his back and Sasha Calle's criminally underused Supergirl, it's at least worth checking out. But let's make no mistake. Ezra Miller

  • Movie Review: Transformers Rise of the Beasts

    09/06/2023 Duración: 19min

Director: Steven Caple Jr Writers: Joby Harold, Darnell Metayer, Josh Peters Starring: Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Luna Lauren Velez, Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage Runtime: 2 hour 7 minutes Synopsis: During the '90s, a new faction of Transformers - the Maximals - join the Autobots as allies in the battle for Earth. Ro & Kriss talk about the latest Transformers film that is clearly a clean break from the Bay-era of films and starts the franchise off in a new and better direction. If you wanted more robots in disguise and less humans, this is what you get. There's also a clear indication that they're finally moving towards one of the crossovers that has been discussed several time before. • Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse - Movie Trailer Review

    02/06/2023 Duración: 50min

Director: Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, Justin K Thompson Writers: Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Dave Callaham Starring: Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Brian Tyree Henry, Daniel Kaluuya Runtime: 2 hour 20 minutes Synopsis: Miles Morales catapults across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. When the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles must redefine what it means to be a hero. * Edit* The directors are Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, Justin K Thompson, Kriss said it was Christopher Miller and Phil Lord but they're just the producers *Edit* The highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is here and it was well worth the wait. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is an even better film than the original and sets up not just for a third film but even the possibility of bringing Miles to live action. Honestly, they should just polish off the Oscar for this film rig

  • Movie Review: The Little Mermaid

    28/05/2023 Duración: 21min

  • Movie Review: Fast X

    19/05/2023 Duración: 01h08min

Director: Louis Leterrier Writers: Dan Mazeau, Justin Lin Starring: Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Charlize Theron, John Cena, Sung Kang,  Runtime: 2 hour 21 minutes Synopsis: Dom Toretto and his family are targeted by the vengeful son of drug kingpin Hernan Reyes. I don't care what anyone says. The Fast & Furious movies used to be good for a bit of a streak there (5, 6 & 7). It's very clear the series took a nose dive after 7, which probably should have been the natural end of the series. The shift is clear. After Paul Walker died, the lead actor and character centered around Vin Diesel and he clearly has his own opinions on how the series should go. Justin Lin, who should be credited for saving these series, got chased off of Fast X a week into production and it shows. Fast X is a convoluted mess that doesn't make sense, has terrible action scenes and it some places forgets what story it's trying to tell because of terrible editin

    05/05/2023 Duración: 39min

Director: James Gunn Writers: James Gunn, Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning Starring: Chriss Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki Runtime: 2 hour 30 minutes Synopsis: Still reeling from the loss of Gamora, Peter Quill rallies his team to defend the universe and one of their own - a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful. • Movie Review: John Wick Chapter 4

    22/03/2023 Duración: 47min

Director: Chad Stahelski Writers: Shay Hatten, Michael Finch, Derek Kolstad Starring: Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Lance Reddick, Ian McShane, Clancy Brown, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Rina Sawayama Runtime: 2 hour 49 minutes Synopsis: John Wick uncovers a path to defeating The High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes. It's John Wick. Of course you're already going to see it. And for good reason. If you must be convinced though, listen to Ro & Kriss talk about this great movie. Like what you hear? • Movie Review: Creed III

    24/02/2023 Duración: 01h14min

Director: Michael B. Jordan Writers: Keenan Coogler, Zach Baylin Starring: Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors Runtime: 1 hour 56 minutes Synopsis: Adonis has been thriving in both his career and family life, but when a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy resurfaces, the face-off is more than just a fight. Kriss, Ro and Brandon have differing opinions on the latest Creed film. It seems to come down to expectations. If you have lowered expectations because this is Michael B. Jordan's first time directing and he's also directing himself, this might be serviceable. If you were expecting a film that was in line with the previous Creed films, you might be disappointed. Jonathan Majors is absolutely fantastic but the script seems to do a lot of skipping over parts and "tell not show" that the previous films didn't do. There's a good film that could have been made here but it's not showing in the final product. Part of that could be because there's a first time director but there's also a lot o

  • Movie Review: Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania

    17/02/2023 Duración: 01h08min

Director: Peyton Reed Writers: Jeff Loveness Starring: Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Jonathan Majors, Kathryn Newton, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Douglas Runtime: 2 hour 5 minutes Synopsis: Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne, along with Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, explore the Quantum Realm, where they interact with strange creatures and embark on an adventure that goes beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania falls right in line with the other Ant-Man films with the one big distinction that it is Jonathan Major's MCU feature film debut as Kang and that alone is worth the price of a ticket (or several tickets). It seems that some folks have become confused with Marvel's approach to its films post-Infinity Saga. Basically they're not holding our hands and are going full comic book and that can be good or bad depending on what your expectations are. It's also very clear that you should be watching the Disney+ shows. Watching this film is definitely going to want to watch th

  • Movie Review: Knock at the Cabin

    03/02/2023 Duración: 36min

Director: M. Knight Shyamalan  Writers: M. Knight Shyamalan, Steve Desmond, Michael Sherman Starring: Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Rupert Grint, Kristen Cui Runtime: 1 hour 40 minutes Synopsis: While vacationing, a girl and her parents are taken hostage by armed strangers who demand that the family make a choice to avert the apocalypse. Knock at the Cabin might be one of the best looking M. Knight Shyamalan movies from a cinematic points. It has all of the things that should make this a great film. The cast works really well with what they're given. The problem is, this movie doesn't have the M. Knight Shyamalan twist and flair that is really needed for this film. It's a shocking disappointment. This isn't a bad film at all. But it's feels like something that was perfectly made for an adaptation by M. Knight but is missing something. What we get is a pretty film with solid acting that just feeling shallow.  Like what you hear? Subscribe so you don't miss an episode!

  • Movie Review: I Wanna Dance With Somebody

    23/12/2022

If you're planning on watching Whitney Houston: I Want to Dance with Somebody because you want to celebrate the woman behind the icon, this isn't what you've been waiting for. Script writer Anthony McCarten (The Two Popes,  Bohemian Rhapsody) designed a narrative built on innuendo, interviews, videos, and b-reel footage to such a degree that its central character, Whitney Huston, is never more than a plot device in a highlight reel of her career. And director Kasi Lemmons (Self-Made: Inspired by the life of Madame C. J. Walker), who should know better than to be satisfied with caricatures of Black people, did little to steer the story much deeper than offering a parody of a life lived. This talented cast's been set adrift with no hope of ever fitting an extraordinary life in such a meandering, and sadly subpar, homage.  Director: Luca Guadagnino Writers: David Kajganich, Camille DeAngelis Starring: Naomi Ackie, Stanley Tucci, Ashton Sanders, Tamara Tunie, Nafessa Williams, Clarke Peters Runtime: 146 (very lon

  • Movie Review: Bones and All

    18/12/2022 Duración: 01h04min

Director: Luca Guadagnino Writers: David Kajganich, Camille DeAngelis Starring: Timothée Chalamet, Taylor Russell, Mark Rylance, Kendle Coffey, André Holland Runtime: 2 hour 11 minutes Synopsis:  Maren, a young woman, learns how to survive on the margins of society. The worst IMBD synopsis (see above) for Bones and All leads to one of our funniest episodes. Listen as Brandon, Kriss and Ro discuss the film that should get Luca Guadagnino on a watchlist (if Call Me By Your Name didn't already have him on one).  Like what you hear? • Harry & Meghan- An MTR Network Special

    18/12/2022 Duración: 01h46min

Director: Liz Garbus Starring: Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Afua Hirsch, Doria Ragland Episodes: 6  Since the announcement of their courtship the global media has been hyper-focused on the pairing that is Prince Henry Charles Albert David (Prince Harry to the rest of us) and Meghan Markle, the American actress and activist.  Like his mother Princess Diana, Sarah Ferguson, and even Princess Margaret, this hyper-fixation on outspoken women with a desire to engage the public in a new and modern way has led to a campaign of venom and hate.  Prince Harry, who expressed an intense dislike of the media and a desire to step away from the royal box even before his marriage, saw these repeated patterns and decided on a course of action that disrupted the status quo.   Harry & Meghan is the Duke and Duchess' response to the ongoing campaign that appeared to be designed to destroy their relationship and return Harry to his "rightful place."  The documentary, which features a compilation of fam

  • Movie Review: Avatar The Way of Water

    17/12/2022 Duración: 01h09min

Director: James Cameron Writers: James Cameron, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver Starring: Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis Runtime: 3 hour 12 minutes Synopsis: Jake Sully lives with his newfound family formed on the extrasolar moon Pandora. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was previously started, Jake must work with Neytiri and the army of the Na'vi race to protect their home. James Cameron returns after 13 years to give us a sequel to 2009's Avatar. Avatar: The Way of Water is a visually stunning film as one would expect. What is unexpected (or maybe expected depending on who you talk to) is how bland and regressive the story and plot is. While no one would claim the first Avatar film was some marvel of story-telling. It's clear that Cameron "borrowed" from several different sources for that first film but it still was edited together in a coherent and enjoyable story. This new film is not only blatant in which films it rips dialogue and scenes

  • Movie Review: Babylon

    14/12/2022 Duración: 25min

Director: Damien Chazelle Writers: Damien Chazelle Starring: Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Olivia Wilde, Diego Calva, Jean Smart Runtime: 3 hour 9 minutes Synopsis: A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood. Kriss, Ro and Brandon discuss the chaotic film, Babylon. Seriously, what the hell did we just watch?   Like what you hear? Subscribe so you don't miss an episode! • Movie Review: Top Gun Maverick

    13/12/2022 Duración: 26min

Director: Joseph Kosinski Writers: Jim Cash, Jack Epps Jr, Peter Craig Starring: Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, Val Kilmer, Jon Hamm, Jay Ellis, Monica Barbaro Runtime: 2 hour 10 minutes Synopsis: After thirty years, Maverick is still pushing the envelope as a top naval aviator, but must confront ghosts of his past when he leads TOP GUN's elite graduates on a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those chosen to fly it. The only thing better than Tom Cruise running is Tom Cruise flying. Kriss & Brandon finally watch Top Gun: Maverick during the award season run and Ro is happy to finally talk about it with them. Turns out making a movie 30 years after the original can work. Which is a shocker because usually they don't. But Top Gun Maverick manages to not only make a good sequel but also a movie that's probably better than the original. Like what you hear? Subscribe so you don't miss an episode! • Movie Review: The Menu

    18/11/2022 Duración: 35min

Director: Mark Mylod Screenwriter: Seth Reiss, Will Tracy Starring: Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, Hong Chau, Janet McTeer, John Leguizamo Runtime: 2 hour 14 minutes Synopsis: A young couple travels to a remote island to eat at an exclusive restaurant where the chef has prepared a lavish menu, with some shocking surprises. Kriss and Ro review The Menu. This horror/thriller/comedy is a fantastic watch. There is a lot of social commentary in this film but it's not done in a heavy handed way. It's very smart and timely. The acting in this film is fantastic. The best moments in this film go from horror to comedy back to horror seamlessly. Listen as we review this film (spoiler-free). Like what you hear?
