Instead, we must remain confident and boastful only in knowing the Lord, knowing that confidence and righteousness are the results of abundant relationship with Him—not religion.

Guest speaker Pastor Nate Holdridge of Calvary Chapel Monterey shares from Philippians chapter two. Here we find Paul exhorting us to "work out our salvation" with the promise that God's command is also the assurance of His enabling. When we submit to God, He empowers us to do His will.

Did you know that you fight a daily battle in your mind? And the enemy is formidable. It’s an issue that every person faces, an issue that wages war within us: pride. But how do you defeat this enemy? This weekend we continue our “Better Together” series as Pastor Doug shares from Philippians 2:1–11, explaining that pride can only be vanquished when we surrender up our rights and put others first, when we climb down the ladder and humbly serve others.

In this week’s message, Pastor Doug Sauder teaches on the importance of living in community with others and for others. Rather than asking, “What do I want to do with my life?” we’re taught we should look beyond our own desires toward what God has waiting for us and our communities.

Here we find Paul writing to the church in Phillippi from a jail cell, but despite his circumstances he is filled with joy having witnessed a woman, a slave, and a gentile united around the gospel. Therefore, be encouraged that regardless of your race, income, gender, or title, we labor together under one banner, Jesus Christ.

In this message pastor Doug Sauder wraps up our study in 1 Thessalonians as we look at Paul's final exhortations to the church. Here Paul encourages God's people to be aware of seven principles that mark the life of a believer: rejoice, pray, give thanks, be at peace, examine yourself closely, don't quench the spirit of God, and cultivate a love for truth.

From television and movies to popular novels, it seems people are becoming increasingly infatuated with the apocalypse, the end times. For many (even Christians), this brings about feelings of fear and anxiety. But this weekend, as we continued to work our way through 1 Thessalonians, Pastor Doug showed us why the end times—when Jesus returns for His Church—shouldn't make us fearful, but hopeful and excited!

There are a lot of things in life that promise to take us to the next level: higher education, job opportunities, fitness programs, relationships. But this weekend, as we continued making our way through 1 Thessalonians, Pastor Duane Roberts from our Boynton campus explained that it's only through the love of God that we can reach the next level of life!

As we continue our study through 1 Thessalonians, Pastor Alan Platt teaches us that it is through our identity in Christ that we are inheritors of His maturity and authority. We learn that in spite of trials and tribulations, our faith and love for one another must remain evident.

Continuing our examination of the basic elements of Christianity, Pastor Jerry Sander taught from 1 Thessalonians 2. Through this teaching, we learn that as children of God we are not only welcomed into His family, but we are also worthy witnesses of His grace.
