  • What if you're wrong?

    15/12/2015 Duración: 01h09min

I saw this argument posed by a Christian in a debate with an Atheist recently and it reminded me of an important point. We should always be willing to objectively and honestly ask the question, “What if I’m wrong?” What are the practical, real world consequences if what I believe, teach and practice is in error? When it comes to the soteriological differences between the Calvinist and the Traditionalist, like myself, this question is especially pertinent. If non-Calvinists are wrong, what temporal or eternal harm have we really caused? As I have said before, we are either rightly standing in defense of God’s glory or God has sovereignly determined for us to be wrong for the praise of His glory. If I am mistaken, no fewer people are going to heaven, no less glory will be given to God than what He decided and nothing I do will ultimately harm or hinder the desire of God for this temporal world or the eternal one to come. I literally have nothing practical to gain by converting to Calvinism. And I know if the

  • How Personal Is Your Election? A Response to James White over Ephesians 1

    08/12/2015 Duración: 58min

Dr. James White is often making the claim that the Corporate View of Election is an "impersonal election of a nameless, faceless group," but of course this is another straw-man fallacy White has employed to try and discredit the perspective. Which view of God's choice is really more impersonal?  The one where the personal names, faces, inclinations, desires, behaviors and morality of the individuals are not in view when the choice is made? Or the one where they are in full view?  You decide.  Let's dive into Ephesians chapter 1.   For more go to www.soteriology101.com

  • Can the 'Doctrines of Grace' be Overemphasized?

    17/11/2015 Duración: 49min

Dr. John Piper is known as the one of the leaders in the modern resurgence of neo-Calvinism.  He is asked if he overemphasizes the so-called 'doctrines of grace' (Calvinism).  His answer presents several points worthy of discussion, the paramount of which is the motive behind making God's glory manifest.  The question is whether Calvinism's worldview is the best systematic in bringing the greatest glory to our God. • Are Consistent Calvinists Real Christians?

    22/10/2015 Duración: 01h11min

Tony Miano recently apologized for his offensive comments regarding Michael Brown not being saved (kind of) and the Bible Thumping Wingnuts, Len, Andrew and Tim, address this on their show. In their discussion, the old ACCUSATION of MISREPRESENTATION (i.e "you are ignorant of my view") was leveled toward me. I unpack why this strawman fallacy and accusations of it will always continue in these types of discussions. I also agree with Tim and Len regarding Jeff Durbin's avoidance tactics...and give another example of Jeff's unwillingness to engage the real debate with those who disagree.   Remember brethren, we can disagree with each other and be respectful while doing it!  Let's dive in! • Matt Slick on the Bible Thumping Wingnut Podcast

    15/09/2015 Duración: 57min

Matt Slick, the founder and President of CARM ministries and an accomplished apologist, appears on the Bible Thumping Wingnut podcast to answer the question, "What must we do to be saved?" My contention is that Slick contradicts the clear biblical teaching of man's responsiblity to humble himself. Let's dive in. For more information please visit www.soteriology101.com   What also must be noted is that the decision to trust in Christ for our salvation is not a meritorious work.  Asking for forgiveness does not merit being forgiven.  Think of it this way.  Did the prodigal son earn, merit or in any way deserve the reception of his father on the basis that he humbly returned home?  Of course not. He deserve to be punished, not rewarded.  The acceptance of his father was a choice of the father alone and it was ALL OF GRACE.  The father did not have to forgive, restore and throw a party for his son on the basis that he chose to come home. That was the father’s doing. Humiliation and brokenness is not considered “b
