First Forty

Nothing at school happened, and it was pretty cold out and we showed some old slides.

At school we had told about what we had got for Christmas. Our gerbils have grown since they were born. When we got home we did not do much. All we did was sit and watch TV.

Stayed in all day; rain never let up; found local NPR station; Mom realizes I'm gone for good; first-day-of-kindergarten story; Meggin suspicious of over-coddling

Drive down to see Casey in B’ham; Casey’s homeless foray; sit-in on a few classes; dinner with Treasure in Montgomery; drive all night to Charleston; greet Deyo upon return from deployment; up late talking with Phil and Stewart; sneak away to Sullivan’s Island; return to B’ham; TKE house party; stop and see Andy in Champaign.

Met with M. LeBeau for about an hour; don’t feel like talking to anyone; Madness interview cheers me up

Today we went sledding down at Mt. Elsen and it was fun. We hope to go there again with Mom. Also tomorrow we go back to school.

Buy cookbook for Muria’s birthday; Yumi joins me at Kuumbwa; party at our house afterwards; Ted swings by and hangs out with Yumi; escape the party in my bedroom; birthday cake massacre

Drizzly outside, cold inside; starting to feel sick; did errands all day long — get ID card, buy books; missing Meggin; place still a mess; drove down to beach and watched surfers, calming; when will my phone come on?

Mom had made breakfast, and it was very tasty. My dad and I were watching the football games to see who would win. Also, Dad had beaten me and Todd at scrabble.

Say good-bye to Meggin and her parents, Mom, Tom, Rich, Claire, and George. Leave Los Angeles, looking back at it from the plane window, remembering everything. Raining in Santa Cruz. I spend the first night of my new life, alone.

We had a party over night at Cousin Andys house but we coulden't get to sleep so we had to get split up. Grandma got sick so we didn't see the movie P.D. Pete's Dragon

Pick-up $10 in change at the toll booth; Yumi and I fly back to San Jose; New Year party with Grace in Felton

Went to go get deposit back from U-Haul; Meggin and I meet Lisa and Marc for a drink at El Cholo; period of indecision

I never did like to make resolutions but this year I have decided to keep a diary; Grant considers C.O.D.; watched "Gremlins", fair
