Although DOnald Sterling was an astute business man and former lawyer, he is most imfamously known as the former owner of the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers.  In 2014, a private conversation between he and his "mistress" was recorded without his knowledge and made public. Shirley Sherrod was forced to resign from the USDA for perceived racist comments at a NAACP event. In South Carolina a white man killed a black man and dragged his body behind a pickup truck.
