King of the Hill
28/09/2016 Duración: 01h40minGod dang it, Bobby! This week the rad crew is joined by the Mean Boys Podcast (Keith Carey, Joe Dosch, Connor McSpadden) to talk about the blue collar beauty of King of the Hill. They lament the fact that the show is no longer streaming anywhere because it is a show that transcended politics in a very unique way that we sure could use these days. They also talk about the strength of Mike Judge's writing and finding humor in the nuances of everyday life. But don't panic, the discussion doesn't get too classy. They also talk about pooping and socks. The gang breaks down their favorite characters and points out that everybody knows a Dale Gribble and a Bill Dauterive in their life. Plus: Joe does a haunting impression of Hank Hill! Karnock meets Lootaclaus! And you find out that Connor has a dark past with Yu-Gi-Oh! cards! Crack open a beer, stand in your favorite residential alleyway and enjoy! (Also, check out the Mean Boys Podcast on whatever platform you are using to listen to this podcast.) This episode is

Shakespeare
21/09/2016 Duración: 01h50minSome are born rad, some achieve radness, and others have radness thrust upon them! This week Kyle and Matthew sit down with comedian Samantha Hale to discuss the world of William Shakespeare...but first, they talk about how good the movie "Predator" is for some reason. Kyle and Samantha are old school drama kids and talk about their first exposure to the Bard via the Spring Shakespeare Festivals put on by the Drama Teachers Association of Southern California. They also talk about Shakespeare in a historical context and point out that he was kind of the Steven Spielberg of his time. This somehow leads to the idea of Shakespeare porn and the revelation that Kyle had music from one of his old bands used in a porn. Burnside tries to find those scenes but finds it difficult in an ocean of online pornography. We all hope his phone is ok. A great episode and the podcast stuff that dreams are made of! 07/09/2016 Duración: 02h22minKamehameha! This week Kyle and Matthew sit down with comedian/kung fu master/former professional rollerblader (for real!) Ron Swallow to discuss the anime epic Dragon Ball Z. They do their very best to explain to a very confused Producer Natalie all about the Sagas, the Saiyans and the sweet, sweet fight scenes. They also touch on the various versions of the show. Kyle chats about his love for the original Dragon Ball. Ron talks about the impact DBZ has had on his way of thinking and approach to life. Plus, the gang chats about the horrible, horrible movie adaptation, and they propose their own ideas for how to bring the series to the big screen. Also, they answer listener questions about the show, and Ron turns the boys onto the YouTube series "Dragon Ball Z Abridged." Blah, blah, blah, over 9,000! This episode is sponsored by Loot Crate. Jimmy Buffett
20/07/2016 Duración: 02h11minThis week the Summer of Rad continues as Kyle, Matthew, Producer Natalie and Laura get wasted away in Marga-rad-aville with good friend/evil podcast rival Adam Murray. Despite broken promises of boats, the gang gathers around Adam's pool with his dog Ludo, tiki margaritas and Burger King cheeseburgers in paradise to reminisce on Adam's love of Jimmy Buffett. Adam talks about his childhood memories and his Parrothead parents who spend their summers in Key West, Florida. Kyle talks about his love of Florida novelist Carl Hiaasen and his experience seeing The Buff-Man and Nine Inch Nails on the same day, on the same stage at Bonnaroo. Burnside cites his complaint that Jimmy Buffett sounds like kids music for adults. But at least everyone agrees that Margaritaville restaurants are great. Plus: Tropical Christmas albums! Ambient outdoor sound! And our thoughts on the new Ghostbusters! Do you know where you-a gonna go when the Rad-cano blows? This episode is sponsored by Mack Weldon's fine men's underwear and more.

13/07/2016 Duración: 02h47minThis week the Summer of Rad continues as Kyle, Matthew, Producer Natalie and Laura fire up the grill with return guest Rivers Langley ("Goods from the Woods" podcast) for a delicious evening of fun and barbeque. To tickle the tastebuds of Team Rad, Chef Rivers whips up his recipes for fall-off-the-bone ribs, collard green casserole and some passion fruit pie to die for. But perhaps the most divisive entry to the evening's menu is boiled peanuts, which divides the group along North (or as north California can be) vs. South lines. Kyle's mom Nancy also pops in as they discuss a breadth of topics including brisket vs. tri tip, the best barbecue sauces and food bloggers forced to make artisanal ketchup. Laughing Skull Comedy Festival
17/06/2016 Duración: 39minWelcome to a bonus episode of This Is Rad! Kyle recently visited Atlanta, Georgia, for the 7th Annual Laughing Skull Comedy Festival and recorded a podcast in the theatre with comedians Jason Webb, Max Fine, Peggy Sinnott and Abby Rosenquist. Enjoy hearing a little insight into comedy festivals as well as a bunch of comedians geeking out after meeting one of the patron saints of comedy (who also happens to be super nice). Other walk-in guests include Kristin Lindner, Meghan Hanley and Marc Henderson.

Marvel Movies II
15/06/2016 Duración: 02h20minThis week Kyle and Matthew welcome This Is Rad!'s very own Marvel field correspondent Jeremy Scippio (along with comic Mark Boyd) to catch up on all the Marvel movies that have come out since their last episode. They chat about the things that worked about Deadpool and the things that didn't work about X-Men: Apocalypse. They discuss what it takes to make a good Nightcrawler and Colossus and pine for a day when the movie world gets a good version of Storm. They also celebrate the true triumph of Captain America: Civil War and the end of an endless cycle of origin stories. The guys pontificate on what we might expect from Doctor Strange and Black Panther, and Jeremy is super excited about the idea of a future Planet Hulk film. They also chat about what makes a good cinematic Spider-Man and even discuss the finer points of the Spider-Man porn. This one goes in some crazy directions. And DC fans shouldn't feel left out, there is talk about The Flash and Suicide Squad too! This episode is sponsored by Loot Crate.

Prog Rock
01/06/2016 Duración: 01h33minThis week Kyle and Matthew welcome podcasters Eric Grubbs ("Do You Know Who You Are?") and Hope Harrell ("The Macabrecast") to talk about progressive rock, better known as prog rock, or even better known as that super wanky, shreddy guitar music Kyle hates. As a drummer, Eric defends prog rock and discusses the origins of this controversial genre which sought to do more technically with the 2-3 minute pop song. Burnside is pro prog, Kyle is skeptical and once again Natalie doesn't believe any of these band names are actually real. This episode is sponsored by Loot Crate.
