Wrestling with God is a question of learning how to pray. Anyone can 'pray', especially in a crisis. But it takes a real person of faith to get an answer. We must learn to prevail in prayer until the answer comes. In Genesis 32 the Bible days that Jacob wrestled with God all night; at dawn, God turned to Jacob and said, "As a prince you have power with God and with man, and have prevailed!" We're living in the last days, the days of the return of Christ, the days when we are going to see revival fire bursting upon the Church, poured on the Church, until the Church is going to be living and vibrant and working and believing and moving into spiritual victory - all in the preparation of the glorious return of Jesus. Those days are going to culminate with the sound like a trumpet, and that sound is going to echo from every building, and that trumpet will herald the return of Christ and suddenly in a blaze of Glory sweeping across the sky from the East to the West, Christ is going to take control, bind Satan, cast Him into a prison for 1000 years ... I'm prophesying what the prophets have been prophesying for 2000 years. I believe that this last great revival will begin amongst the Russian speaking peoples, sweep across Europe, and upon this revival, Christ will return, just as Hudson Taylor prophesied in 1889. Rejoice! Christ is risen, just as He said. Jesus has conquered the last enemy, and that enemy is death. Death has lost its sting, its pain. When Christ rose from the dead He demonstrated there is life after death. Jesus was the first to come to new life, and because He lives, we can live also. To us, Easter is not death but resurrection. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is essential if we are to be effective in our Christian witness. When I was a child, I prayed 3 months without receiving the Spirit. But I knew that without the power, the fire, the anointing of God, I could never see men's lives converted. At Easter we used to have three Pentecostal Conventions in London. I determined to go and not leave until I had received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit! The preaching was so long in the morning, there was no time to pray for people to receive the Holy Spirit! As a 13-year old I went up to those great men of God on the platform and said, "I only came to receive the fire, pray for me!" They took me to a small room, laid their hands on me, but their minds were on their lunch! I did not receive the Holy Spirit.  I was searching for something which does not come from men, the real power of God. We need to relearn what the Baptism in the Holy Spirit actually is. My father, (a great man of God, converted in 1905 during the Welsh Revival, a great Bible teacher), taught me when I preached as a boy of 13 and no one repented, that Jesus said, "When the Holy Spirit is come, HE will convict the world of sin and righteousness and of judgment to come!" He said, "Son, you haven't received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit yet!" It was a lesson which changed my life, because what I needed was the fire and the power of the Holy Spirit to bring conviction, conversion and a changed life when I preach! I asked my father to lay hands on me. He did, but I didn't receive the Holy Spirit. As a result, I spent the next three months in an agony, 13 years old, crying out to God, fasting and praying that God would give me FIRE and POWER through the Holy Spirit. When finally, I received the Holy Ghost just days before my 14th birthday, it totally revoluntionised my life. From that moment God took control, things began to happe

We need to prevail in prayer until God answers. In Numbers 14:20 God says to Moses, "I have pardoned, according to YOUR word". Moses 'made it happen'! Do you see what the intercessor has done? Moses as the intercessor has challenged God so that instead of turning His back on His people because of their weakness, because of their sin, because of their failure to evangelise and their failure to win the world, God says, "Because of the intercessor I will renew My Covenant, I will renew My Power, I will renew My Glory. I want your faith in God to be unshakable; I want you to be confident in your relationship with Him. Jesus told us to call God 'our Father'; we are sons and daughters of God. I have written in my office, 'Think God, think big!' How big is God? How powerful is God? My God has the greatest power in heaven, earth and the whole of creation. There is nothing He cannot do! For my God there is no miracle too big, no question too hard, nothing is impossible. The Bible says that the things which are impossible with man are possible for God. If only you could understand the love God has for the sinner. The Bible says God places more priority on reaching the one lost soul, than the ninety nine who are safe. Our circumstances can be changed; the Word of God cannot fail! When Jesus speaks, the miracle will happen! Jesus has power and authority in your life, power to set you free, power to heal you of every sickness, power to resurrect dead circumstances. Only believe, and the miracle will happen. John the Baptist was searching for the Messiah; he was always talking about this Man who would redeem the world. I believe that John was searching in the same way that many of you are searching. He wanted to know the truth. He wanted to know reality. John had heard about Jesus, so he sent his disciples to ask, 'Are You the Messiah, the One who will redeem the world?' John's doubt might have arisen from his own circumstances. Like John, I too have been in prison, left feeling abandoned and forsaken, but through it all, there was a hunger deep in my heart for Jesus, to know the reality of His power. If only we could hear the Words of Jesus. In your life, in your problems today, just where you are, Jesus wants to say, "Don't be afraid, only believe." In your biggest crisis, in the time when you feel that your life is at an end, call upon His Name and He will answer. If only you would believe in Jesus, you would see the biggest miracle of your life. With Jesus there is no crying, no sorrow, no weeping. The very Name of Jesus brings hope: His Name means salvation. The wonderful thing about Jesus is that He won't turn anyone away, there is no rejection; whoever you are, if you come to Jesus, He will not keep you waiting, He won't reject you, Jesus has time for you. People may tell you that your problem is too far gone, that it is too late for a miracle; Jairus was told in Mark 5:35, "Don't trouble Jesus anymore, your daughter is dead", but Jesus will say to you as He said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid, only believe'. If you let the power of God touch you, by a miracle He will change your life. You need the touch and the power of God. But first you have to trust Him. You have to believe He can work the miracle. The Gospel is the power of God to change lives. God can touch you, He can change your life. There is no limit to what God can do when you trust Him.  If you want God to change your life say this prayer with me: 'On the cross my Jesus died. You gave Your life for all mankind. On that great day my sins You bore, Jesus the Christ, Saviour of mine. Before Your throne, oh God I stand, forgiven and free. You've given me eternal life. Why are you afraid? God is in control! When Jesus is in the boat with you, even if He is asleep, it doesn't matter the severity of the storm, one word from Jesus and all will be well. All will be well with your family, health, finances, employment. Jesus will speak peace into every tumultuous situation. I believe the challenge to every one of us today is, why are you afraid? There are times when you are low and you're longing to know if Jesus is there, if He cares just for you. I can tell you how close Jesus is to you, just breathe in: Jesus is as close as the air that fills your lungs. One prayer and He is always there with you. How can we touch Him? It is not a physical touch. You touch Him when you call His Name, when you talk to Him. Reach out to Him today. One word from Jesus can calm the storm, heal your broken heart. Jesus says, 'Behold I stand at the door and knock. If any man will open the door, I will come in!' The real life of faith, of being a Christian, of receiving forgiveness and healing is in knowing Jesus. I try to tell people how easy it is to receive Him. All you have to do is be like a drowning man: stop struggling, let go of your tiny piece of flotsam and come into His open arms. So many listening to this have secret problems which you cannot share. They are too deep, too hurtful, you cannot open up. Tell everything to Jesus. It's the only way to be healed, delivered, set free. Talk to Him. He's listening. Call upon Jesus! When you are in distress, when you are in trouble, when all the problems of life have come upon you, you will find God if you search for Him from just where you are. Today, God has given you a solemn promise of a glorious future. I want you to let these words sink into your spirit this year: God has a bright future for you, He is bringing you out into abundance. An abundance of health, joy, peace: He will give you an abundance of every good thing. You've been through the fire now it's time to enjoy His blessing (Ps 66:12). Will you come home to your Father's love? If you want this new life, if you will receive Him, I want to pray with you: 'Oh God, become a Father to those who are listening to this, comfort and deliver them.
