25/03/2021 Duración: 14minWow, what a story. You know, sometimes it's hard for us to really believe we are who God says that we are. God had chosen Saul to be his king. But when Saul heard it, he went and hid in the baggage. It was hard for him to really believe that he was chosen by God for this special purpose, that he was a king. And the same is true for us. Sometimes we have a hard time believing that we are who God says that we are. God says that were loved by him, chosen by him. We are his own special possession. That news is so amazing that sometimes we find it hard to believe. And in this story, Samuel asked others to go find him and bring them forward. Sometimes God does that in our life. Sometimes it'll take other people, maybe even your parents, to go and get you and to bring you forward so that you can be reminded of who you really are. That you're loved by God. You're chosen by God. You're his special possession. And that, my friends is great news.

23/03/2021 Duración: 05minWow, what a story. God heard the cry of his people. And he did something about it. He sent them someone who would be their king who would rule them, and who would fight for them. As you read more about the life of Saul, you'll see that there were many things about him that were not good. There were many ways where he failed as their king. But this story, has drawn a picture for us, of what God has done for us in Christ. God heard our cry. And so he sent us his son, who would be our king. He would set up his rule and his kingdom, and he would deliver us not from the Philistines, but from darkness and death and the grave and evil. Jesus, our king, here's our cry, and he comes to give us life. And that, my friend is great news.

21/03/2021 Duración: 06minSometimes our leaders are unjust. In fact, they pervert justice, greed and power can have a terrible effect on our leaders. And that was the case of Samuel sons. Joel and Abijah. The names of these two boys are very interesting. Joel means Yahweh is God. And Abijah means my father is God. Such beautiful names for these two boys. And yet greed and power ended up blinding these two boys, to who they really were to living up to their Beautiful Names. Sometimes in this life, we can disappoint ourselves, and we can end up not living up to our family name. But there's a leader and there's a name of somebody who will never let us down. And his name is Jesus. Jesus will never twist justice, in his heart will always be for you. So today, Let's trust him. Let's give our whole lives to the one whose name is above all others. And in the name of Jesus. Let us have joy

19/03/2021 Duración: 06minI absolutely love this story. Samuel, who was young at this time, would go on to live a long life. And over the course of his life, he would hear many messages from the Lord. he'd become quite familiar with the sound of God's voice. But here this very first time. What makes this so special when I hear it, was that God's first word to Samuel was his name. God knew Samuels name because God knows Samuel. God is in relationship with Samuel. He loves him, even before Samuel knows the sound of God's voice. And you listening to this podcast today, are probably very young too. And I want you to hear something in this story that we read today. I want you to hear your name. God is speaking your name. God knows your name. God has loved you even before you've learned the sound of his voice. As you grow older, you may grow to hear and understand the words of God more and more. You'll hear his voice but know this. The first thing that he says is your name. Because he knows you and He loves you my friend, this is good news.
