In this great short story by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery, a young lady (Ursula) is ordered by her father to place some distance between herself and her suitor for the summer, and she is sent to live with her aunt on the coast. Her Aunt Philippa is a "speaks-her-mind" type of old school aunt, and does her best to discourage Ursula from marrying just anybody. Aunt Philippa is a character and a story you will want to share with your friends- and we hope you do! In chapter 3 Sir Pellias holds true to his promise to declare Queen Guinivere to be the most beautiful queen while outside the castle of the knight of the green sleeves- and winds up being treated to a dinner within the castle where he is persuaded to give up his enchanted necklace - after which troubole follows. The word gets around and when the king dons the clothes, he and everyone else can see that he is standing in his underwear, but no one has the moral courage to tell the king that he is standing with very little on. The start of another great series of baseball short stories (the last one was "The Red-Headed Outfield)- this one being"The Young Pitcher'- the storyof a very young man who attends a large college as a freshman and soon learns what hazing is all about. His dream of playing baseball for that college seems to end when he punches the varsity captain of the baseball team during a rough hazing.
