Have you ever used your navigation system and picked the long route to get to your destination? Probably not. Today, we talk about how God sometimes takes us through a journey that seems like a longer route as we visit Exodus 13 and see how the preparation process is necessary before reaching the Promise Land.

Does the Bible ever seem confusing to you? All those rules and regulations. Don’t you wish someone could boil it all down to something simple? Jesus did. That’s what we discuss this week.

Often times when we think about Jesus we don’t acknowledge that the Bible says He was anointed with the oil of joy. This week we talk about one of the main things that rob us of our joy and what we can do about it.

It’s pretty easy to get outraged. We have access to more information than we have ever had since the world began. We’ve never been more passionate or polarized. The problem is that our outrage rarely accomplishes anything. The good news is that Jesus has given us a gift to deal with it. But first, we need to give him our “gift" of outrage. It’s harder than you would think.

As we head into Thanksgiving, a lot of people talk about giving thanks but today we ask, what would it look like to become people for whom gratitude is a cornerstone of your daily life? 

Have you ever met anyone that didn’t act their age? Sometimes it’s annoying, sometimes it’s sad. But what happens when a follower of Jesus doesn’t grow up? We talk about that this week.

It’s hard to hear “no.” No, I won’t marry you. No, you don’t qualify. No, you don’t get the job. But what happens when it’s God that says “no?” That’s what we talk about this week.

God doesn’t always answer all our prayers the way we want but He is interested in our process. How do we pray for breakthrough? This week we talk about 4 things we can have in the back of our minds when we pray for things to be restored in our lives.

When it comes to communication, who you’re talking to makes all the difference. This week we talk about a multi-dimensional God that is available in every situation at all times.

We speak to people differently depending on our relationship to them. We talk to a police officer differently than we do a friend. But how do we talk to God? It depends on how we relate to Him. We talk about that this week.

Why do we pray? When we want something? When there is an emergency? Those are good reasons. But there is a best reason. We identify it this week!

How do we pray? Why do we pray? Have you ever been in a group and someone asked, “Who would like to open in prayer?”  Why does that make us nervous. Over the next few weeks we are going to talk about prayer. But most importantly we are going to pray. Prayer is just having a conversation with God. The good news is that He wants to hear from you and He doesn’t care if you get it “right” or not. Just like any good father, your Heavenly Father loves you and wants to have a conversation.

In Mark 10:13-16 Jesus welcomes and blesses the children and passionately reminds his disciples about the VIP access children have in the kingdom of God. This sermon explores what kind of kingdom Jesus brings, the particular advantage that children have when it comes to entering this kingdom, and how adults can receive the kingdom too. Spoiler alert: The kingdom belongs to the desperate, the helpless, the powerless, and those who can’t earn it themselves. This is really good news.

In the US we have never been more educated, richer and healthier. Yet studies show that we are more anxious than ever. Why is that? More importantly, is there anything we can do about it? This week we discuss the remedy for anxiety.

At the end of the day there is really only one relationship that matters. This week pastor John talks about the one thing that is most important.

How do you identify yourself? Uncle? Mom? Businessperson? As we begin our new series in Philippians we start with how the Apostle Paul identifies himself. The word he uses may surprises.
